I know this is more of a "fun" thread, but I just wanted to pipe in with something that really helped me understand my own cravings and periodic lack of control when it comes to food, and that is the condition of sugar addiction. The biochemical basis for it, believe it or not, is very similar to alcoholism. If you have not read the work of Kathleen Desmaisons, PhD. you really should. Her book Potatoes Not Prozac
is an excellent place to start to understand sugar addiction, how it works in the body and how to deal with it.
