Biggest Loser Scale Is A Fake

Postby Dolly » Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:41 am

Biggest Loser scale is fake; contestants are weighed before the weigh-in ceremony

Every week on The Biggest Loser, contestants weigh-in on a big magic scale. The scale isn’t very nice, as it taunts the contestant before delivering the actual weight. Does she weight 190? or 210? Does he weight 350? or 325?

A reader of the MSNBC Ask the Reality TV Experts column about the fairness of the men and women weighing-in whilst wearing different clothes.

As it turns out, the scale is a prop scale that is made for the television. The show’s executive producer, Dave Broome, confirmed that it is just for show. What is entirely real, however, are the contestants reactions. Although they weigh in before the ceremony, they learn their latest weight for the first time while standing on the big scale.

I for one, am really looking forward to losing weight with the Australian Biggest Loser Team when it starts up shortly in February

Oh my goodness, that will be great, I'm still reading one of her books that I bought off ebay for $7.50` 'The Lazy Girl's Guide to Losing Weight and Getting Fit'.
She has me in stitches with all the funny things she writes.

Hello Girls....

Did you all watch the biggest looser last night? It was great and I am looking forward to making it a nightly ritual over the next 12 weeks.I plan to walk on my treadmill while I watch it.
There is almost 100 kilos between the biggest and smallest but it works out by body percentage so I guess it works out fair in the end.

Natalie :)
