AHHHHHRG my belly won't stop grumbling. Please help :(

Postby oostevens » Mon Aug 27, 2007 5:02 pm

I am at work, and i have 1hr left. I am so hungry.

I have eaten my lunch today.

It was a chicken & sweet corn soup and 2 cruskits with low fat cottage cheese.

But I am so hungry :(

It could be because I haven't got much to do but I am struggling.

:( please help me get through the next hour.

How sad.....that I am struggling with this...its just food.

drink water!! perhaps your brain is tellling you that you are hungry when in fact you are just dehydrated. i also find that Extra drops are good as it keeps your mouth busy and your brain thinks you are eating :)

water does help a lot!! chewing gum tends to make me more hungry for some reason :? not quite sure why. those extra drops and stuff like that are quite good just to keep your mouth busy and give you a bit of flavour, but be careful not to eat too many, it has the same warning as chewing gum does about excess consumption!!

fruit and vegies are also good - if you have some carrot sticks or grapes or something to nibble on when your tummy growls, that always helps!

Postby Kathndig » Mon Aug 27, 2007 7:44 pm

Try Pepsi Max... It has 1 calorie and the bubbles make your stomach feel full.... Its good for about an hour..... Good luck

I use salsa for dipping carrots and celery.

Just a tip for future, i dont know if it will help, but try not to go too long between meals as you tend to pig out more. I eat a few small meals throughout the day instead of big ones. I tend to eat every 2-3 hours when im at work.

i agree with shelbel. do you eat much else besides your lunch during the day? i eat every 2-3 hours as well. nuts are a great snack as well - especially if you do have something like soup for lunch (i do the same!) because they give you a bit of a protein boost as well.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys.

Today I have taken
- 1.5L bottle of water (which i plan to drink all of today),
- tuna (in springwater) and avocado sandwich,
- yoghurt,
- kiwi fruit
- carrots and cream cheese

I plan to nibble on that all today :)

Apples are good. They can keep you feeling full for a while. I used to carry cut celery and carrot too. Another trick that worked for me was drinking hot water ........ if I felt hungry I would have a mug of hot water first, then if I was still hungry have a small snack. The water was often enough though.
