The best thing to eat AFTER a workout is protein, because it aids in building muscle and repairing muscle that has been torn during the weights routine.
I ALWAYS eat an hour-30 minutes before a workout. Usually a piece of bread with peanut butter, or a banana or a small meal. If I dont I get lethargic and have NO energy.
