Need to loose weight fast

Postby hetfield_86 » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:34 pm

Hi everyone. I am applying for the Australian Defence Force Accademy and need to be under a certain weight before I can jon. This would have been fine but they have fast tracked my application to try and get me in before the end of the year. This is a bit of a problem as I need to loose around 10 kilos in a fairly short time (about 6 weeks). I was wondering whether people had any suggestions on big weight loss, work outs, diets or suppliments. Any help would be great.

Thank you

Although its not advised, quick weight loss can be achieved, if you restrict your calories, put yourself on a very severe exercise plan and drink plenty of water . .

I would definitely not wanna go through it myself though because the body pays you back with soreness, fatigue and no energy whatsoever . . i wish you the best but please mate try and be smart about it . .

are you male or female? cos i know that a male would be able to achieve that goal in that time as they recommend males lose between 1-2 kg a week. however for females they recommend 0.5-1kg a week. maybe all i can suggest is a shake program like tony ferguson, kate morgan, or celebrity slim. people who use these programs seem to have wonderful loses if they stick to it 100%. best wishes!

weight loss comes from a calorie Deficiency you need to have a neg count of around 7700 calories to loose a kilo. So look at what you are putting in and what you are burning and just do hte math.

Though i agree with the others it can be unhealty depending on your stats, male female, current weight and height.

Good luck , and take care

i didn't say it had to be daily, but to loose a kilo of weight, thats what you need to burn. So for example having a 2000 calorie negative deficiency, you'll get around 14,000 a week and getting close to losing 2 kilos.

Sure is, it puts into perspective when you see some one who lost say 50kg

50kg x 7700 = 385,000 calories

Well I have opted for the shake diet. The optifast shake diet. Has anyone been on it and got good results. I must say I've been on it for 2 days and I am starving haha.

Well, just keep thinking about that ADFA goal!! Me personally, I wouldn't be aiming for 2kg per week. I'd say to them, "well look I'm losing it and aim to reach your standard, but to lose that much in that time frame I believe is unhealthy". But I'd never make it in ADFA. I can't keep my opinions to myself and would spend my whole time cleaning floors with a toothbrush.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

as a bloke it's possible to lose 1-2kg a week altho it's recomended that a safe amount to lose is 0.5-1kg a week. Just put in the hard yards and burn those calories, continue to mix up all the excise you do and keep your body guessing so it doesnt adjust to what your down. You prob hear this alot too but drink heaps of water, it's an old trick but in the end it all adds up. Goodluck

yeah when i think about it, i'm like 13kilos over weight and i know alot other people have it worst off than my but when i work (supermarket) i see like 2kg bags of flour and massive 5kg bags of dog food, and i think to myself damm i have like 7 bags of flour hangin on me? and it's scary when we do this aye, but on the plus side it's quite the motivation. 10kgs is like 5bottles of cokes hangin on ya. goodluck trying to lose that in 6weeks mate. just keep burnin on.

Well currently I am still on the shake diet and I think its working. I have already lost at least a kilo if not more in the last couple of days. I have been exercising at least 3 times a day and doing lots of swimming and running. So yeah feeling pretty good about it. I am also doing some stretches to try and give me some better posture which will hopefully increase my height a bit as the entry into ADFA is done on a BMI so the taller I get...the less I have to loose. haha
