breakfast b4 or after exercise?

Postby charlimc » Tue Sep 25, 2007 1:24 pm

i want to know if its better to exercise b4 or after breakfast.. i heard b4 is best but in the mornings i end up running around after everyone else to send them off to work/school and by the time i am able to start thinking about myself its around 10am then i do exercise but that means im having breakfast pretty late.

If you have to wait that long after getting up to eat, i would say its bet to eat when you first get up, do your running round to get ppl ready, then exercise, then eat your next meal a little later.

At least this way you get your metabolism kicking over

I completely agree with the last comment made. From everything I have read, you shouldn't exercise within two hours from last eating.

So, if you got up... Ate around 8am and then helped + organised the rest of your family you will be fine to exercise at 10am!

It must be difficult... As Oprah says, being a stay at home mother is the hardest job in the world!

I've read that exercising before breakfast is good because it wakes the metabolism up and makes you burn the food you eat afterwards more quickly.

Sounds good to me!

You should do light/moderate exercise BEFORE breakfast. I wouldnt advise on doing anything too intense cause you'll feel fatigued.

Doing it on an empty stomach means you start burning fat straight away, thats the theory anyway. Exercise burns fat no matter how full your stomach is lol.

Yes - but exercising with a full stomach means that the food you have just eaten will be burnt off firstly... Rather than fat! Hence the reason you shouldn't eat beforehand.

Each for their own!
