I want to lose weight so my clothes fit more comfortably. But also I have noticed a few health problems, such as indigestion lately etc. I also have a floating rib which causes me a lot more pain when I have a bit of weight on me. My mum said to me the other day that I used to have a beautiful figure when I was a young adult. And I did. It was the perfect figure until I was about 22 and then the weight started to creep on and the kids came along with the extra few kgs each and I was settled in my relationship etc etc.

I just thought of another reason why.......I'm sick of people looking at me when I go out and you can just see them thinking "Gee isn't she stacking on the weight". I went for chrissy eve drinks to my partners work and I could just see the fellas and a few of their partners thinking that. I hadn't seen quite a few of those people for a year and in the last year I have put a bit of weight on!

health reasons: indigestion, ankle and knee trouble, chaffing :x , cardio-pulmonary stress (my family has a history of heart probs) etc.

Also becasue I've always been a chubby kid/person. I used to get teased a lot at school etc. And I started to think "we ll I'm not pretty, I'm not popular, I must be smart, that's all I have" and that puts a lot of stress on me to perform and I never feel quite good enough. So I figure If I can look good and be fit and healthy, I might start feeling better about myself.

Also, I would like to be able to do more things in life. being able to fit in to the bloke's rally car seats comfortably, be fit enough to go on nice bushwalks without chucking a wobbly, be able to get in to those harness things you have to wear to go on flying foxes etc (I remember being on a camp one and I couldn't go), be able to think about planes without wondering if they've narrowed the seats again. To be able to wear a skirt/dress and walk down the street without getting chaffing between my thighs!!!!!!!!!

So, so many reasons
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

Want to lose weight cause....

Postby dallee » Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:22 am

I was stick thin as a kid, used to weigh only 55kg and I'm 172cm tall! Then I found out i had a heart condition that basically doubled my already fast metabolism. I had surgery when I was 16, then just started stacking the weight on after that.

I also did some truck driving when I was 25, and sitting on my arse for 12 months in a truck definately didn't help either!

Don't get me wrong, I don't consider myself to be hugely overweight now. I've lost the few kilos I put on while I was driving, but now I just want to tone up and look good for my wedding - 11 March 06 (50 days and counting!) I've now got the motivation to get fit cause I want look good on the day. I now weigh 75kg, which for my height is classed as overweight. Plus my tummy isn't really looking the best either.

As far as I'm concerned, if someone wants to lose some weight, good on them. As long as they do it safely, cause you can do serious damage to your body otherwise.

We can't all be size 6, stick thin supermodels! (Like my sister - lucky censored!!)

Take it easy guys & girls!!

I want to lose weight to feel more confident in myself and to wear a pair of shorts or a short skirt/dress instead of hiding under full-length pants all the time. I want to be able to go to the beach with my husband and toddler and not feel embarrassed in a pair of bathers. I want to lose weight so that when my husband reads Ralph or FHM magazine, I don;t feel so intimidated by the gorgeous, fit models in skimpy lingerie!!

I wanted to lose weight for the same reason as Hayley with my husband looking at models in skimpy lingerie I wouldn't feel so bad. Also wanted to be fitter and I wanted to fit back into my pre pregnancy clothes.

I fit back into all my pre preg clothes now and only have two that are a tight fit (last time I tried them on (start of this month). I'm so proud of everyone with how they're doing.

I want to lose weight to: control my chronic pain, lift my depression, prevent diabetes and other health problems that obese or overweight people get. (I'm classified as obese as I'm only 153cm tall and weigh 86kg), to get more energy, to look better, to want to go out and not hide, to feel healthy and be able to do more with my kids, to wear nice clothes again and to regain some self-confidence.

Hello everyone. Im in the military and each year i have to pass a fitness test. Everyone else finds it easy, the military call it "sub-minimal" which means if you cant do it easy you must be really unfit! Well, i have to train, HARD, 2 hours a day to acheive this once a year, and because im short, 162cm, i have to weight a mere 65kg to be deemed with the "healthy" weight range, to even be able to attempt the fitness test! My problem, i weighed 71kg. So if i dont lose it by October my job will be in jeopardy and it also prevents me from being deployed.

Also, im getting married in October to my sexy fiancee who is all of about 170cm tall with a plasterboard stomach and muscles like youve never seen! I cant let the groom look better than me can i!?

You can do this Jenni, your fiance is so lucky to have a girl like you that cares about how you look for him.
I'm sure you'll be as light as a feather in no time.

Gee, how long have you got!

I want to lose weight:
*to increase my self esteem and confidence. Deep down I just don't feel good about myself. I know when I'm happy with my weight my self esteem and confidence sky rocket.
*so I don't avoid going out or avoid catching up with people so they don't think 'Boy! She's packed on weight'. I've just realised how much my size dictates my actions.
*so I can chose the clothes I want to wear not wear the ones I fit into - I have 3/4 of a wardrobe that I can't wear.
*so I stop feeling like the blob of the family.
*to improve my health or at least ease some of the symptoms of CFS especially my energy levels.
    *so I'm not classified as obese (160cm @ 81.9kg)
*to stop people referring to me as somewhat overweight (in a specialist report for insurance company).
*and above all, to be happy with the way I look in the mirror from all angles.
