Calories burnt in Les Mills classes

Postby fi_112 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 6:05 pm

I thought this might help anyone who is keeping a food and exercise journal. The following obviously depends on how hard you work and how much you weigh!!

RPM (45 mins) = 600 cal
Attack = 700 cal
Step = 550 cal
Combat = 500 cal
Pump = 450 cal

(I personally think Step is much harder than Combat, but I stole these figures off the Les Mills website so I figure they would know!)

Hope this helps somebody :)

If you can do step or attack, you will do fine with pump. Pump is all about working at a pace/weight that is comfortable for you, just when you start let your instructor know that your new and she/he will help you out. I cant reccomend body balance highly enough either- as a new gym junkie it is becoming a firm favourite and aqua aerobics is fantastic also

Definately try BODYPUMP!!! I started the same way... to scared to go into the class... 3 years on I was teaching it!!! Always let your instructor know if you are new... don't be afraid to approach them with questions either (that's what we get paid and trained for) most of us love new people in their class and will be happy to help!!!
Good luck!!!

most people tend to forget body balance as a work out but a 50min balance class for me burns 439 calories and I find it to be the highlight of my week when i do the balance classes- i now go twice a week as I love it so much. :D

my gym had re-launches over Easter, and now combat burns the most calories.

Attack is so much fun, if you can do combat and step then attack is easy!
