On the treadmill I do a minute of 5.0 incline and a minute of 8.0, for 10 mins. When I go up to 8.0 my ankles are quite sore, and when I go back to 5.0 they are still sore. They also hurt when I am out walking (so I dont really do that anymore). Does this happen to anyone else? Its pretty frustrating

Have you dramatically increased your treadmill activity recently? It could be that your body is simply not used to it. If your ankles keep hurting you might want to consider scaling back your treadmill exercise and only increasing it slowly.
perhaps its your shoes- it really pays to have a good pair of runners, i couldnt live without mine. get fitted out for a pair as its not really normal to have pain your ankles for such a substantial period of time.
I think I will go and get fitted (once I get my tax back ). I know at the Athletes foot they have a pressure reader-thing, I think I may be putting too much pressure on the sides of my feet. And my runners are pink.. eww.
