I'm with Genesis too Sarah (not the same one obviously) - my membership is the same price but I can use it at any time. Why do they have restrictions on when you can go?? That's just rubbish

I want to join my local YMCA and have talked my husband into joining with me but it's $85 each to join, plus $64 each per month. I don't mind paying the monthly fees as it's great value - they're open from 5am-11pm 7 days a week (or thereabouts) and have a multitude of classes, several swimming pools etc etc. But they won't waive that joining fee  - I already asked :( and they said they don't waive it for anyone, EVER.

I just found out the are building a ladies only gym (assume its fernwood) aound the corner form my house(about a 30 min walk). I am really excited by this and hopefully it will be built in time for me, when my curves membership runs out in December. Very good news indeed..

Hopefully they will have some good opening price cuts for new members 8)

My contract with fitness first was up and I have moved to YMCA as of yesterday. It is directly across the road from work so now I get more machine time rather than the 20 mins it took to walk there and back.

More expensive but state of the art equipment plus a pool and I could possibly fit in a class now and again too.

Sandra you will do well at $85 as I was stung $110 as this one is the new one at Docklands, plus the membership will be $70 as of July. Damn city prices!

I just joined my local YMCA. It cost $85 to join and costs $64 per month for a full membership (swimming, gym, cardio, group exercise classes) but from next month when their new facilities open, it will be $64 per month.

This is on top of my $89 monthly taekwondo fees. It's getting quite expensive to get fit!!! Better see some big results :P

Hello,

I am new to the forum and have just joined the BeachHouse as well, I was also quoted $31, I was told this is a student price. Are you a student or is the the norm? Thanks
