Tegan's Maintenance

Postby Butterfly_Dawn » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:57 pm

Hi guys,
I'm back.
Ive been away for a while and mostly it was because I felt the board had gotten busy and I felt a bit lost, and also because I had my own issues to sort through.
Anyway, now I'm back and I've come to the conclusion that although I haven't reached my 70kg goal, I think that perhaps that where I am is probably where I should be for now at least and that I should change my orientation to one of maintaining the losses to date.

So after getting to 75kg, I have slipped back a little to around 80kg and I want to work on getting that back under control and monitoring my position for the long term. If I lose a little extra in the process that's fine, but my real aim is to try and stabilise my weight at around 75kg, give or take a couple.

I don't know if people will remember me, but hi to anyone who does, and hello to anyne who hasn't met me yet! Feel free to drop by, say hi and ask any questions, hope I can be of assistance!

Cheers,
Tegan

Hi Tegan. Welcome back! I've been a bit MIA too lately...

Good luck on getting back to where you were... you've been there before so I'm sure you will be able to get back there quickly. It's so annoying how easy it is to gain a bit...

Tell me about it! I've been really struggling with my eating recently and find myself eating things because they're there and I'm bored (or more commonly, procrastinating). I've gone back to my old strategy of tic tacs so that when I catch myself going "oh that would be nice..." I grab them and suck them so I can't eat anything due to the mint flavour. By the time it wears off I've usually forgotten about it.

Hi Tegan and welcome back. Thats a great idea about the tic tacs, i have thought about doing the same sort of thing by brushing my teeeth each time but thought it wasn't a good idea or i will brush all the enamel of my teeth.
Out of curiosity what does your maintaining lifestyle look like? What exercise are you doing and what sort of diet (food plan) do you have at the moment?

Very similar to previously. I walk the dog once or twice a day (depending on whether the bloke takes one shift) and that's an hour to an hour and a half, and most days of the working week I ride to uni and home which is 2hrs return. Weekends the dog usually gets a longer walk, but otherwise it's lighter on the exercise. As a result, I probably eat more than your average (though not banquets), but I find I NEED the exercise in order to maintain, especially since I find eating control so difficult. I think I essentially have quite a slow metabolism and a tendency to gain easily so I really have to work at it.

Sounds, good. I'm sure your dog is loving the fact that it gets to go for a walk everyday and somedays twice a day.

He goes twice a day every day, just sometimes I walk him both times and sometimes the bloke walks him for one of the walks! And yes, he loves it. If we didn't, he'd let us know about it, let me assure you! Nelson makes sure you spend energy on him - either by walking or filling in the craters he digs

Still struggling with my blasted eating. Just need to keep working on my tic tac plan...

It is, and seem to be varying quite dramatically which is good when it's in this direction, but still not entirely sure what's going on. I always weigh after toileting and before breakfast. Perhaps it may be time or a new set of scales?
