How on earth am I not going to gain again without going NUTS

Postby dustany1dust » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:30 pm

Okay, I am just under 10 Kg until goal...and after losing nearly 20 Kg can I say that I am OVER losing weight and worrying about my weightloss...the only thing that is keeping me going is the thought that there is light at the end of the tunnel....JUST 9.6 Kg to go and then you can stop....

but

The closer I get to my goal the harder I am having to work and I am getting scared that to maintain a healthy weight and not re gain all the weight will mean I will need to stay a weightloss nut (like I am now) FOREVER...this scares the [email protected] out of me....

I would love to eat healthy, have a naughty meal every now and then, snack thorugh the week (within reason), do moderate exercise and stay slim!!! I dont want to be working out EVERYDAY or most days of the week....

Please tell me that it is achievable...

this is playing on my mind also... basically it breaks down to half an hour of excercise a day to look and feel good. I can deal with that.

Hi

For myself, I've come to the acceptance that my weight is never going to be bang on x pounds everyday and that I may fluctuate by a few pounds at any given time.

In short aim for a range rather than an exact amount of pounds.

I think this is a lot easier to accept :).

Every now and then do a flush like the Koscher sea salt flush. All you have to do is mix 1-2tsp of salt to a glass of water and drink it on an empty stomach! It helps me a lot actually especially when feeling bloated.

Mark is on the money. It is about travelling in a narrow weight range.

Key practices of those who successful loss weight and keep it off for more than two year (from a research study) are:
1) They weigh themselves every day to monitor and keep their weight in check.
2) Their food is pretty routine and doesn't vary a lot (same foods - same potions).
3) They exercise at least an hour each day.

As someone who has kept the weight off for more than two years...I can concur that these findings.

If you are coming near to goal weight loss...do take heart - maintenance is far easier than the pointy end of the weight loss. 8)
