So how did you go Natasha? Did you keep it together?
It's not easy when you are unwell - but it is always worth the effort! 8)

There's a lot of sickness around at the moment.
There's a flu doing the rounds that hits you in various ways, leaves for a bit and then comes right back at you just as you thing it is over with.

Do your best and you will win through. :D

I am a winner....I have won with life and its not all about weight ...
that's like when I go too weight watchers they say
how was your week???
and my week isn't about weight its about life.....
I am positive and don't bring negativity into it..

yes I am a winner..

Glad to hear that you consider yourself a winner. :D

The "winning through" that I referred to was about powering through the difficulties and challenges that life presents.
Anyone who puts up a gallant struggle when things get tough is a winner to me even if they don't complete the whole task set before them.
Moving forwards to me is enough to claim victory.

When I was close to goal weight or when I had just finished achieving my weight loss target people would question me closely.
They (probably fired up by those "reality" shows) would probe me about why I had been overweight in the first place.
There had to be some deep psychological reason for it was their thinking.
Bad family upbringing, bullying, low self esteem issues, depression or worse were suggested.
They wanted to put me into the Life's Loser pile.
But I had to disappoint them on their working theories of why people are fat.
The simple fact of the matter is that I just had a careless regard for this area of my life.
Staying slim and healthy meant nothing to me until it actually started adversely affecting me.
The plain truth is that I lead a slothful and gluttonous lifestyle because it well suited me at the time.
I was very happy and contented with no psychological issues (okay - none other than the normal ones that all people have  ).
I was a "winner" then and am still a "winner" now but with the added advantage of being a healthy winner in this area of my life.

yes I agree,
I believe people don't be honest with themselves and try the blame game..

I was over weight because I was a pig and lazy....and as you know im a straight talker and I don't say that wanting pity,i say that because that's why I was over weight.i get very angry when people like too blame..
the people that say I only eat this I look at them and say if our only eating that ou wouldn't be the size u are then they start adding foods they are also eating...

we are fat because we over eat and are lazy, its really very simple...

oh FYI im 81 this morning..back too my perfect..

Well done Tinkerbella!

I think there are some people who are overweight not because of their own efforts (or lack thereof). Don't forget there are a host of medical conditions, and a host of medications, that can result in a lot of weight gain that is almost impossible (possible, but takes at least 1 year before anything will budge in the case of one med my GP was telling me about) to shift. Let's not be too judgemental of weight issues; judge ourselves for sure, because we know the full story there ;) And absolutely applaud effort and sustained vigilance. You are doing good!! (And looking good!)

While I agree that many of us are fat because we overeat (and don't move enough to burn off the extra calories)...
however I don't think it is just a simple case that we are/were too lazy.
For me I was unmotivated to do something about it for many years because it wasn't a big enough problem for me to deal with it.
Once it was - then I became motivated.
Another reason (and a very big one) is rather than being lazy it would have been truer to say that I was tired and exhausted.
Hefting around 87 kilos of extra weight took a lot of work.
Any other mere mortal would appear "lazy" if they had to carry that around 24/7!

Great to hear that you are back to 81kg.
Good work! :D

oh yes I do agree,
I was on steroids too get a baby alive into the world many years ago,i remember what they did too me....
but I believe in MOST cases its lazy and indulging habits that's putting people (me) in the position of being over weight..
I too know how easy it is too be back off the wagon, and get into my old SELF of pigging out on the wrong foods, even pigging out on the RIGHT foods puts on weight and not exercising..
We can never get complacent when it comes too weight !!
