What has been the best or most memorable comment said to you about who you are, your weightloss, etc?

I caught up with a friend yesterday I hadn't seen since Nov (10kg loss since then) and he asked "Are you trying to change yourself?" I replied what do you mean and he asked me again then said "you look tiny and your hair is different" being a guy it wasn't said with much emotion so I asked if that was a good thing and he goes "*&^% yeah, you look hot!" Yay for me. I was smiling the whole day! Its great seeing people you haven't seen in ages the difference is much more obvious to them than people you see all the time!

The guy that I have been seeing (long distance) said to me not long after we met that he loved the fact that I was comfortable in my own skin and with who I was as a person. That is one of the biggest compliments that anyone has ever given me. No wonder I still want to continue seeing him

My Dad gave me the greatest compliment I've ever had.

He rang me up one day just to tell me how proud he was of therson I have become - that I'm a great mum who is teaching him things every day and that he is priveledged to be a part of my life. It still makes me feel good about myself when I think about it. Man, I love my Dad

Tell me about it. Technically he's my stepdad - which just makes it even better - although he did marry my Mum whenI was like 6.

Dee he is a better Dad because he CHOSE to be your Dad, he wasn't your Dad by birth, and that is a compliment in itself. :D

I don't think I can pick one comment, on the weekend I went on a family camping trip and caught up with relatives I haven't seen in a long time, all were shocked and amazed out how I looked.

My Mum told me that one cousin just could not get over how well I looked and how I had done such a thing, sometimes I feel like I'm showing off or bragging, but then I think, stuff that, I've put in a lot of effort and am very proud of what I've done.

But some of the best comments have come from here, I never considered myself as anything more than cute and cuddle :p, but the comments from here have made me rethink things a little :D

Back in October at my grandpa's funeral... one of my god mothers said "don't you go losing any more weight!", accompanied by a very concerned look!

That's as good as it gets for me, ha!

I wandered into work work one day, and nurses uniforms(and not the rude type!) are not the most flattering of things to wear and a friend af mine who was walking behind me came up and said- you have got the sexiest arse these days - how do you respond to that :D  :D

I think there is something just basically difficult about responding to compliments in general.

I used to find it really hard to take compliments and when I first started dating my partner four years ago, he was constantly complimenting me. Now we're like an old married couple (except without the marriage  ) and the other day he turns to me and says 'we have a great mental connection', that beats all the other compliments he gives me over my appearance. But I still like to hear the compliments nonetheless hehe

Compliments are awesome...

One that I had recently was great, but I don't think she even meant it as a compliment!

Last year, I was doing the Freeway Bike Hike in Perth (doing it again this Sunday in fact) and my friend was picking up my race pack from uni, and I asked her to get me a race shirt. She asked my size, and I said "just get the biggest one they have!"

She brought me the shirt and goes "I didn't get the biggest, I got you the XL (not the XXL or XXXL) - you're not that big!"

And she was right, the shirt fit me perfectly.

It's funny - she wouldn't even realise how awesome that made me feel (the girl complains to me sometimes about how tough it is for her to put on weight.. I KNOW, I KNOW!) but it made me so happy about how far I've already come - I'm no longer the biggest girl there is!

(and for the newbies who are confused by my ticker - I used to weigh almost 140kg...)
