When do you weigh yourself?

Postby MissFabulala » Fri Oct 19, 2007 2:18 pm

Hi Everyone,

Just owndeirnf when you weigh yourself and how often, and also is it the same time each day, naked, clothed etc etc.

I weigh myself everyday in the morning after going to the toilet and before I have eaten anything and naked. I don't think I could do it any other time, as I'd feel too bad if I had gained :(

Cheers,
MissFabulala!

At the moment, having some scale issues...

But generally, weekly, naked, after going to the toilet, in the morning, same as you!

I'd recommend not weighing daily as your weight fluctuates so much daily and you can end up getting all depressed for no reason! But I know that it's hard to stay off those scales, and many people on here do alright, just make sure you take any small gains with a grain of salt if you are weighing daily, and look at the big picture :)

I know! I can't resist hopping on the scales everyday. It's like a mini motivator to stay on track - plus we have digital scales so they record a loss of even 0.2 which keeps me going. Even though this is probably water weight ;)

ATLEAST once a day

I know that I shouldnt do it that often, but I cant help myself. And I think that it motivates me more, if anything anyway.
I do it religiously first thing in the morning, after I go to the loo, before I eat, with no clothes on. Sometimes I do it throughout the day also, or before bed, and it is always more than in the morning, but I just find it interesting to see how it goes up and down through the day.
I dont get disheartened by it, because I only take into account what the morning one says. We also have body fat and water scales, and while some people have told me that they arent really that reliable, I think they are a good indication how I am going anyway.
Sometimes I find my weight hasnt moved at all, but my water is a higher percentage. So it all makes sense then.

In the morning about every 2-3 weeks, underwear.

I used to weigh myself every day but it got too depressing. My weight fluctuates so much that any slight gain was pushing me off-track.

I weigh myself once a week in the morning after going to the loo and in my underwear!!

I put the scales in the garage as I would find myself doing it daily.
It has stopped me weighing daily!! :D

My motto- out of sight out of mind!! :D

that's a great idea bear :)

I am now only weighing myself once per month as I find that number on the scale was dictating too much how I was feeling. I am now relying on my clothes to tell me that I'm doing well over the weeks and i know when I jump on the scales on the 1st of Nov (nekkid, first thing in the morning) they will have moved significantly in the right direction :D

hey bear i put my scales in the linen cupboard LOL

hey sandra

i find that i too get too involved in it all and it can become quite depressing. i realised that there are more important things to think about and that weightloss shouldnt be torturing.

Yeah, as motivating as they can be when you have a loss, even a small gain is incredibly frustrating and demotivating... so away with the scales :D BANISHED!!!

Milkyway weighing yourself on the 1st of every month is a great idea. Think I'll try that (if I possibly can).

I weigh myself first thing after toilet in my undies. I also can't resist every day but I find that it motivates me either way. If I've lost then I feel positive, if I've gained then it makes me extra careful that day. It's when there's no change that I get angry.

I get weighed on Saturday mornings at my weight watchers meetings. I tend to wear the same thing every week and don't eat or drink anything before hand.

I do weigh myself at home every morning, but I don't take that weight as anything other than curiousity.
