Yukky Question

Postby shelbel » Sat Nov 03, 2007 12:37 pm

I have a silly question for you, when you eat something, then vomit about half an hour later, do the cals count?
Now dont go thinking i binged and purged!! I had a wee bit of booze last night and have a unsettled tummy. I thought having cereal and milk for breakfast would be a fab idea (it wasnt  ) and low and behold it comes to see me again, yuk. Im counting the cals anyway, but i just wondered thats all! Sorry to gross you all out! LOL

hmm I think sugar like the lactose in the milk gets absorbed quite quickly, the cereal maybe not absorbed so fast?

here's a yucky question back at you - what was in the vomit? if there was chunky bits of cereal, you didnt digest much! :)

make sure you drink heaps of water to make up for it!

yes the body does still absorb some of the cals. starting from the mouth when we chew and its broken down by the amalayse. not all cals will be absorbed though.

hope you are feeling better soon, hangovers sux.. drink lots of water and get your vitamin B's into you... xxx

Ewwwww, I once brought orange juice straight back up, and hence I cannot even think about drinking orange juice even to this day, it makes me sick!

The best thing I have found for a hangover is Gastrolite, the berry one (it the purple packet), as it fixes the dehydration problem. I always have some of that, plus some fizzy B & C vitamins, and it helps soooo much!!

Hope you feel better soon Shelly :)

Hey shel a little trick my mate taught me. Have some gatorade before you go to bed and some when you wake up, it helps build the electrolyte back up, something to do with dehydration.

It really does work. Oh yeah and a sausage McMuffin :D but that's naughty lol, but taste great.

Drinking excessive amounts always seems like such a great idea at the time!!
