Hi there - I'm new to this post and have just ordered my book, should receive it next week. was interested in all the previous posts and feel excited to start, however I too am apprehensive about it all. I have been on the weight loss journey for more years than I care to remember and always fall off the rails! My journey, seems like every one else to trying to find that magic formula that will do the trick - hopefully this is it! I have always had a problem with the visual side of things and the older I get the harder it is for me!

Looking forward to joining the 'new comers' and taking the journey together!

The basic idea of the book is to use your mind to visualise who you want to be and to eat the right foods which will allow your body to become thin. Its not a crash diet or any miricle cure, its about changing your lifestyle so that you can become thin. It will take time doing it this way, I have been applying these principles for close to 6 months now and am losing weight and am not struggling with it now, I know how to eat and I want to eat healthy- its not a chore.

Good luck with the book, really read every page and take on board what will suit your lifestyle (recommends eating organic but i cant afford that)

I listened to the cd that comes with the gabriel method last night for the first time in months- today i feel confidant and have started exercising again. i never seem to have an issue when i listen the the cd at night and follow healthy eating and exercising- but none works well without the others working.

I agree with taking on board what suits you. I must say I skip all of his new-age mystical stuff as my inner sceptic simply can't stomach it. However his theories about using stress for weight loss based on evolutionary stressors, interval exercising, the types of foods he advocates (even though I don't agree with his taxonomy from an intellectual point of view!) and visualisation are simply the bee's knees. After having hit a plateau for ages I'm finally losing weight again and I'm sure it's because of Jon Gabriel's methods.

I highly recommend this book. I borrowed it from my local library, but the moment I have a few spare dollars I'm going to buy my own copy.

I've just bought the book from my local book shop, however it did not come with the CD. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the CD from? I've checked out the Jon Gabriel web site, but it seems that you can only get the CD when you purchase the book (sort of a combo). The CD sounds like it would be worth a listen :D

Ooh, I thought the book always came with the CD. Maybe different editions don't. Can you return the book and get a refund, then buy a copy that definitely comes with a CD?

Just a thought, the site has an enquiry form on the website under the link 'Contact Jon'. Could you send Jon (or his staff) a message and ask if the CD can be purchased separately? They may know why your book was sold without a CD.

I didn't realise it came with a CD at all, so I'm quite annoyed now! :x Don't think I can return it, as I've been reading it, and the cover has got those fold marks in it now, plus I just had a look and can't for the life of me find the reciept! Grrr I think I must have thrown it out while cleaning up the hose yesterday :x Oh well, what can you do!

Definitely contact the Gabriel Method website. They may have a solution for you. If they shipped books without CDs at some point then there would have to be a way for their customers to get the CD.

I just emailed them :) They better be able to sell me one, or else I will have a big whinge  Throughout the book it refers to the CD all of the time and it tells you specifically, if you want to purchase the CD just to go to their wesite. Hopefully they will reply soon. we will soon see!

you might be able to find someone local who has the cd and burn a copy of it- or grab one from your local library and copy the cd that way you dont have to buy one.
