i am pretty good at drinking my 2l during the week & i'm working on making sure i do the same on weekends. i might try and up it a little bit more too - when i went for a blood test the other week the blood was a bit slow & they asked if i'd had water. i said i'd had about 1.5l (it was only 1pm) & she said in winter we often need to drink a little more because all the indoor heating can really dehydrate us. at least it makes me get up from my desk every hour
whit3tig3y - maybe it's to do with how much you're drinking at a time? i.e. do you just have a swig regularly or do you scull a glass at a time?
It doesn't matter what you put in the water you will still go running to the toilet constantly. When you don't drink much water your body does a similar thing to when you don't eat, it stores as much as it can, but if you drink lots of water like a glass every hour your body realises its not getting a shortage and doesn't store it. And going to the toilet constantly is a good thing, It helps your body flush toxins out.
My problem is that I forget to drink, because i'm not thirsty. So I have a 750ml water bottle.. to get my 2L during my work hours (8-4) I aim to drink 1 bottle by 10:30.. another by 1:00, and then another by the time I finish.. thats 2.25L a day... But I forget to drink! So to keep in time with that.. I usually end up taking huge gulps of it every 45mins or so to make sure i'm done by that time.
Aftre giving birth naturally to 3 kids over the past 8 years i am forever getting up during the night for a bathroom stop so i don't have a time when i stop drinking.
Water is my main choice of drink. Always has been. I don't have a problem consuming the "required" amount of water daily. I do notice a difference though when i have spent the day in town and my water consumption isn't as good as normal, i get headachy, nauseaus and my urine is dark
I try to drink it early in the day, the same as almost everyone else. It seems to stop me being hungry during the day and the dreaded get up during the night. I add a bit of lime juice to the water if it gets a bit much. Try having some mineral water or soda water ( watch the salt content) just to change it around a bit. I buy the lime juice in a bottle and keep it in the fridge. Tastes really nice in mineral water and is a real treat. Its freezing cold today and a real struggle to drink 2 litres.
Need to get motivated.
