I was just wondering how having the Time of the Month issues affect weightloss??

Didn't think this question was one that men might want to know about so i hope its appropriately named haha!!

I tend to retain water, so I usually gain a kilo. My appetite also increases so it makes dieting very hard too!

Thanks Ali,

I started yesterday and i weighed myself this morning and seem to have lost a further 200g... its a bit hard to read my scales coz they aren't digital... must buy some new ones....

im making sure i get a lot of water down in a day, and trying not to retain any of it, which helps. I haven't felt a lot hungrier, im just trying to use my will power to stay good.

I tend to gain a kilo or two as well, I bloat BIG TIME. I feel about 10 kilos heavier! My appetite increases enormously, I try and keep it healthy, but I seem to crave junk food as well!

Oh yeah, chocolate and junk cravings! I retain fluid something shocking and get terrible gas pain. Last month I found out that drinking camomile tea seems to help me with the fluid retention, along with keeping the sodium down, of course.

Its good to know how other people react, i think i just get pain in every single part of my body, haven't noticed an increased appetite but im just taking it one day at a time...

I have very painful periods (painful as it terrible stomach cramps and all over body aches) although the pain disappears after the first 2 days generally. I always lose my apetite completely during this stage and sometimes I throw up. Usually force myself to eat whatevers at hand so I can take my painkillers. Also (and this is kinda gross, sorry if its too much info) my cramps encourage excessive bowel movements. :oops:

Usually i'm bloated the days leading up to it then drop the weight as its finishes.

I used to be like that when i was in my late teens- was so bad i went to hospital a few times and had morphine! at that time i would lose about 2kg in that week cause i could not eat. Thankfully all of a sudden it all stopped and never again had period pain.

09/02/09- 79.3kg

You've given me hope! :lol:

Actually, mum says she was much the same, however it stopped after she gave birth to me (she was only 19 at the time) and only occasionally she gets mild stomach cramps now. (So mild no painkillers are required). I'll be 24 in a few months though!
