Here's why you should avoid the Lemon Detox Diet at all costs:
The Lemon Detox Diet is just another one of the ‘fast crash diets’ that preys on the insecurities of overweight people with promises of magical results!
The fact is that when people follow this lemon juice detox they will lose weight, and fast, but unfortunately, as with most of these ‘quick-fix’ approaches, they put all the weight back on and usually with a bit extra as well!
Let’s review how the Lemon Detox Diet ‘works’ and examine some of the reasons why you should avoid it at all costs!
Yes, you read correctly! It recommends that you don’t eat anything for the entire 7-day detox plan. Any plan that recommends avoiding food or drastically reducing food intake to near-starvation levels should always be questioned and never conducted. Here's why you should always avoid hunger pain:
The human body needs food in order to function properly and any attempt to short cut weight loss by avoiding food is futile at best and potentially harmful to the body at worst!
It is a completely ridiculous approach to weight loss. Of course, if you don’t eat you lose weight- simple!
Uses common household ingredients
If people believe that a combination of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper has some sort of magical weight-loss powers, then they need to seek professional help!
Lemon juice contains sugar, a negligible amount of vitamin C and is mainly water. Maple syrup is a more concentrated source of sugar with miniscule amounts of a few vitamins, if any! Cayenne pepper may have some very mild nervous system stimulating effects, if at all.
The lemon detox system recommends having this concoction several times a day as a meal replacement.
These ingredients are in most people’s kitchens so it is just as easy to make it at home rather than going to health food store or pharmacy to pay around $100 for a product that costs less than $1 to make!
Now, let’s look at why it has become so popular:
A million-dollar marketing budget
People constantly get bombarded with ads promoting the virtues of the Lemon Detox Diet. With promises of dramatic weight loss and boundless energy why wouldn't someone with little knowledge of physiology or nutrition and who is desperate to lose weight give it a go?
Plus, the professional-looking, clinical packaging contributes to the belief that this weight-loss system is one that works! Nothing could be further from the truth!
The lemon detox diet website offers plenty of 'pseudo-science' to promote the effectiveness of the product. Again, without knowing much about nutrition or supplementation as well as the therapeutic dosages for ingredients to be effective, people would be compelled to think that this is a miracle weight-loss product!
Many companies use this technique, often deceptively, to promote their products. As a result, it has some people believing that if the product is good enough for 'Celebrity X', then it is good enough for me!
The reality is that often the celebrity hasn't even used the product, they have simply been paid a large sum of money to put their name to it.
It gets fast results. Albeit temporary results!
Many overweight people are desperate! They have often tried to lose weight many times before without success and they are constantly looking for the solution to their problem.
This makes them sitting ducks for marketers of dubious weight-loss products that promise dramatic results in record time!
As mentioned previously, if you don't eat, you lose weight! And that is how the lemon detox diet works. Of course, when the user starts eating again, the weight piles back on, even faster than they lost it due to the body invoking the 'Anti-Starvation Response'.
If you want to follow a detox diet to help you lose weight, here's a completely free detox diet that will help you get results quickly and safely. Best of all, if you maintain the principles fairly closely you will be able to keep the weight off for the rest of your life!
There are far better nutritional approaches to lose weight fast. Unfortunately, the Lemon Detox Diet is NOT one of them!
