I don't see why it wouldn't be...I make sushi with steemed cabbage rather than rice, to cut down on the carbs. Whole grain rice might be a better option...I've always seen it as healthy. Go for it.

LTS, it's sushi seasoning that's put in the rice before it's cooled that has the sugar, not the rice it's self...I don't put the seasoning in it and it still tastes fine :)

I'm sure it would be healthier than your traditional well know brands such as KFC, Maccas etc. Sushi is filling too so that is a positive.

I love sushi! Apparently the shape of the molecules in the rice make it a low GI carb .. I think?
Anyway you should avoid the mayonaissey ones, but other than that I'm all for sushi! Love, love, love it!

The calories from sushi come from the rice. To put it in perspective, one piece of nigiri (the little mound of rice with a slice of salmon on top) is are anywhere between 50 - 70 calories. I could easily eat 10 of those tasty little morsels and there's at least 500 calories!!

Sushi hand rolls are about 150 calories each depending on the size so that's not tooooo bad!

I love Sushi and usually go for the Chicken ones. I avoid the Tuna ones now (used to be my favourite) because they put Mayo in them and I doubt they use the low fat stuff.
