Quick questions regarding the STEAM ROOM

Postby Sassyt » Thu Nov 12, 2009 7:48 pm

Please help me :?:

Ideally how many times a week should one go for a steam room?

What exactly are the benefits of the steaming?

What is the best time to go to steam room is it BEFORE or AFTER an exercise session?

You help is kindly appreciated. :)

All seem to be going just fine so far.

Im happy with the work Im putting in and the manner of eating (atleast this week) just not sure if my body will agree with me and shed a kilo or 2 (wishfull thinking)lol.

As for the steam room thing I need to get more views since some people say it helps with your skin??? I dont know I am also hoping someone will put me to some light.

In terms of permanent weight loss, I don't know if the steam room will do anything for you, but I can tell you that fighters (boxers, muay thai, MMA) use the steam room a lot to "cut" weight before fights. Essentially they use the heat to dehydrate themselves so that they can get down to the max weight for their weight class.

Quick example, UFC light heavyweight Maurcio Rua walks around at about 220lbs most of the time, but cuts down to 205lbs, the light heavyweight limit, just before weighing in for a fight.

hi - i go to the "detox box" which is like a steam room where you sweat out your toxins. at the moment I go once a week it is supposed to be the equivilent of burning 300 calories. they give you a little electolyte icey pole to drink on after :)

Hey,
From what I know the steam room won't really help you lose weight, but as the others said it is great for detoxing, great for the skin and cellulite etc :)
It is also really good for recovery I think. Plus it's nice and relaxing xx
