A few I can think of are:
- Don't make losing weight feel like punishment for being overweight. You must look forward to it.
- Make realistic goals and understand that since it took time to gain weight, so it will take time to lose it.
- Measure your progress - not just on the scales, but body measurements, and feelings such as feeling well after exercise or feeling proud of after deciding not to eat something naughty. Record them all in a diary and read it.
- Learn to enjoy doing new things such as exercise and healthy eating. People are quite capable of learning new habits and skills. We learn to count, read and write, to ride a bike, drive a car, etc. So why is learning to eat and live healthily any different?

i bought a dress in the size i wanted to get into! and i spent a fair deal on the dress for extra motivation! i leave it hanging on my bedroom door so I see it every morning when I wake up

also, stick pictures of an outfit or a picture of your ideal body on the fridge or pantry. it will make you think twice every time you see it.
