What do you wear to the gym?

Postby madeline » Tue Sep 04, 2007 12:31 pm

As a total n00b to the gym, I would like to know if you girls would think people who make an effort to look nice at the gym are try-hard.

Hope not  <3 Madz

ps i'm not talking about makeup, more like high ponytails with ribbons, 3/4 leggings and sports inspired cotton dresses (just sportsgirl, jeans west, etc, nothing classy) i used to dress up for P.E. class and while playing team sport too haha.

In all honesty, I wear trackies and a t-shirt. It's not a fashion show... You're there to sweat your butt off... But I don't think anyone cares in the slightest. Just think about yourself and whatever you feel comfortable in!!!

Do you know what I find slightly odd? That there are not many cute gym items for people that are bigger. So strange - especially since we need it the most!

That is weird :?

You'd think there was a market for that... and they're into making money right?

No I don't think that people at the gym who make an effort to look nice at the gym are try-hards it more of a younger generation that do do it. No one care's what you look like because at the end of the day everyone is there for the same reason & at the end of your workout your sweaty & your hair is out of place anyway.

Madz wear what you feel confortable in if you want to have ribbion's & all that then do it, no one is going to judge you.

Have a great time at the gym.

I guess they think that we don't care, so why should they?! Shame!

Oh well... I'm bringing sexy back. And at 60kg I'll buy the cute little tracksuits to wear to the gym too!

I usually wear a tank top with an inbuilt bra thingy, and tight pants (3/4 leggings or full length ones). Cause then things are less likely to jiggle.

I would wear shorts but my thighs jiggle and can even hurt sometimes!

I really dont think anyone cares! So yep :)

I don't go to the gym, but if I did i subscribe to the "nothing I sweat in should cost more than $10 unless it's safety equipment" so I would be in the dodgy trackies end of things. But that's me and if I were in a gym with someone wearing the latest sports brands and ribbons in their hair I don't think I'd notice them enough to form a judgement cause I'd be either too pooped after a workout or looking forward to starting one

shorts riding up in between your legs when jogging - hands up everyone who hates that!!!!

* hand up *

I haven't gone jogging in shorts for a while so I'm interested to see how that turns out this summer!
