Treadmills

Postby CrimsonThunder » Tue Nov 06, 2007 10:32 am

Heya everyone, I really want to buy a treadmill but I know absolutely nothing about them... So I came here to the experts!

I know nothing about motor speed or anything and I don't want to buy something that is just really expensive and I don't really need it. So what do you people recommend?

Heres the ebay search for Treadmills. http://search.ebay.com.au/Treadmill_W0Q ... QQfromZR40

Which is where I will most probably buy one from unless someone here has a good website with great cheap treadmills.

So if its possible can someone point out to me a good cheap one and a great expensive one? That will make it easier to choose which one I need. :)

have you thought about hiring one?

That way you could try it out before you outlay a large sum of money.

Maybe wander into a sports shop and ask them to explain the different types of treadmills (I'm sure you'll have no problems finding an enthusuastic salesperson!). They'll help you determine what model you might be interested in. Then, thank them very much, and go buy it off ebay

Try the trading post as well

Sorry Tom, I have no idea about treadmills....but if you're gonna get one, I'd say get a good quality one that can hack the pounding that I'm sure you will give it!

Thanks for the posts guys, I didn't know radio rentals had treadmills!

I had a look at the sports power near me and they only had 2 treadmills there... Not much of a choice haha.

I got my treadmill from A-mart all sports, it's called a red rocket - a really good treadmill that i got a good price for. Definately try the sports stores and specialised fitness stores which can be found in the yellow pages.

Hi, I bought a treadmill in May and I love it!! My biggest piece of advice is to get a quality one as the cheaper ones are just no where near as good. I think electronic incline is a must too. I priced hiring a treadmill and it works out to be very expensive so if you can shop around and buy a good one outright. I got a deal on mine from Rebel sports and saved a few dollars just by saying I was looking at one at another store!

Thanks for everyones advice! I just bought one off ebay.

I was looking through a Harris Scafe cateloge and they had a treadmill for $900 saving $400 thought well I'm getting that, then I decided to have a quicky on ebay and found one for only 455, then it got close to ending so it went alot higher, ended up being $660 + $190 postage. and it works out CHEAPER than the harris scafe one and its 10x better!!!

I hope this is the edge that helps me get to my goal!!

I recieved it yesterday, helped the guy bring it in, it was bloody 110 KG! I didn't realize how huge it is, its about the same size as ones you'll see at a gym (if not bigger) I set it up in the lounge room and then tried to get it through the door... It wouldnt fit lol. So then I had to undo it a 3rd time (first time i forgot to put the wires in properly)

Got it into my room tried setting it up again couldnt do it.... Luckily my next door neighbour came over at the time to give me something he gave me a hand.

So now theres a huge treadmill taking up all the room in my room! But damn is it awesome, walking on one is alot better than walking outside! (for me it is.)

Thanks again for all your help. ^^
