I think it would depend on your circumstance and fitness/weightloss goals.
There's no way I could run 6 days per week but some people do. I have a running training program I will get back into when my knee heals (hopefully this week!) and that has me running just 4 times per week and one rest day and two cross training and strength training days.
I think doing yoga and/or pilates would be a great adjunct to your cardio program. It's good for strength and flexibility, both of which will help your cardio stuff and your weightloss.
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...
