Huh?

Cardiovascular exercise is very important. Resistance training will build strength, but cardio is the one that makes you fit and keeps your heart healthy.

Most health experts recomend 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise every day. To keep your heart active and maintain weight.

I would like to know where you got your info from? Because its absolute rubbish. Cardio + Resistance training + healthy diet = weight loss.

I agree, I think both cardio and weights are important! I think there is a point of diminishing returns though, so doing an extreme amount of cardio (however much that might be, I don't know) would produce less results the longer you continued doing it... :?

I know what you are saying about resistance training.

It should be used as a combination, you shouldnt ever cut out cardio. I know people who are very VERY muscly with low body fat % and do NO cardio at all. They have no endurance and one of them has heart problems as a result.

I am very pro resistance training, i probably do that more than cardio (cause its more fun). But i dont think cardio is a waste of time thats all.

+ i eat A LOT of protein and do resistance training to maintain any muscle i might lose during runs. Maybe people dont know they need to do this?

I also think cardio and resitance training are equally important. I would NEVER sacrifice my cardio for resistance. Call me a sheep baa baa baa! :P

You've got to realise that not everyone on here is solely focussed on weightloss and the quickest path to it. There are those of us that are after a more wholistic approach to a healthy lifestyle.
