The 1,000 steps

Hi again!

As part of my exercise routine, i try to frequent ferntree gully's 1,000 steps at least twice a week.
I usually do two repeats, although on adventurous days i often do a third.
The two rounds as well as the walk to/from the carpark usually takes me around an hour.
I'm 55kg, 166 cm tall and 20 years old.

With this information is it possible for anybody to give me an approximate of how many calories i am burning with this exercise?

Hi Kylie,

According to Mapmyrun and catagorising it as "Climbing Hills" its got the calorie count as 407 for your height and weight. Excellent work there, I did it them the other saturday morning with friends and managed it once before I heard a latte call my name :shock: . I catagorised it as "climbing hills" rather than steps coz while there is steps its not all steps and more like a steep climb.

A heart rate monitor would give you an exact count.

Keep up the excellent work there !. Oh and if you go past a fatty whinging away and panting lots, be kind to me :D
