Whats your favourite exercise DVD?

Postby curvygirl » Thu Jul 10, 2008 10:53 am

I want to get some exercise DVDs so I can exercise at home where no one can see me. What does everyone recommend? I have no fitness level but thought that if I did it regularly it may improve.

I brought walk the walk dvd from ebay. Its a 3 disc set. Start out with the Miracle Mile, the equivalent of a 1 mile outdoor walk and experience 5 minutes of effective body toning moves designed for people of all ages and fitness levels!

As your energy increases you can advance to the Two Mile Walk, which includes the FIT-O-METER, TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR WORKOUT TIME, PACE AND DISTANCE COVERED.

For more of a challenge, walk off the extra pounds and cover 4 miles-all in the comfort of your own home in just 60 minutes!
So you can just work at your own pace and as you get fitter you work up to the next dvd.

I like the 10 minute solutions DVDs. You can get a decent little workout if you don't have much time, and if you have more time available you can combine the 10 minute sessions to get a longer workout. I have the pilates one and I'm planning on buying a few more from the range.

I also like the Carmen Electra 'Fit to Strip' DVDs. They're fun, a good workout and they do wonders for your self-esteem and sensuality!

I also like the Hotpants Workout DVD and the Honey Kalaria's Bollywood Dance Workout. But my back is a little too sore to do either of these right now!

It's part of Carmen Electra's 'Aerobic Striptease' workout series. There are five DVDs in the series and they're all good (for some reason I forgot the series title and thought they were all under the banner of 'Fit to Strip' though!'Fit to Strip' is actually the second DVD in the series.) They combine dance with exercise movements and put them together in a sexy strip-tease like way. I find them really good!

You can see an example of one of the workouts here. (Safe for work - they're fully clothed in gym outfits!) The DVD takes you through each move gradually, and you slowly build up the routine. This video is at the end where you put it all together into the dance routine. You're not expected to be able to follow their moves like this immediately! There are other sexier routines than this one, but it's a good example of the sort of basic workout available on the DVDs. There are some more examples here(Not quite so safe for work!) And this videois the promo for the series and explains what to expect on each DVD.

Yeah, it's not as strenuous as some workouts but it's definitely a lot of fun. Personally I think it does wonders for your self confidence as well! Most workouts just leave me feeling sweaty, this one made me feel like a censored goddess!

Hi!
Can you do the Walking DVDs (Eg walk away the pounds) if you do regular cardio exercise?
Is it enough?
Cheers,

I like my Penny Lancaster DVD ( can't remember what its called)... it incorporates everything from pilates, aerobics, floor work, dance, boxing... you feel fantastic after it. It goes for an hour and its a great workout.

I also like my Hyperextension "Tummy, Hips, and Thigh, Mini Tramp and Stability Ball" workouts, they are great, and do wonders for your legs.

But i am also now looking at the "Fit to strip" videos, it sounds like so much fun for something different...

Any others people like????
