Stepping

Postby whit3tig3y » Wed Feb 25, 2009 9:22 am

I think I want to get into stepping at home. It sounds like a great workout!!! But I don't really want to go and fork out for a step bench thing. Does anyone have any idea's on what to use in the intrim? We don't have any steps at home so I can't use those lol I know we have stepping on the wii fit but from what i've read the board really isn't high enough to give you a proper workout. I was thinking possibly some phone books stacked on eachother or something? You really only need enough room for both feet to step up so if you had 4 books two ontop of eachother side by side then that should work wouldn't it?

Does anyone have any other idea's? Or does anyone know how much step bench things are and where to get them from?

Phone books are good. A woman who I spoke to at Rebel Sport recommended them if you're only going to be using them at home. You can wrap them in a towel to keep them stable, or use packing tape to make it more permanent.

Keep an eye out for online shops that have aerobics steps on special. I managed to get mine for $30. Adjustable ones are pretty good. DealsDirect are going to get some in for $39.95 (Shipping $9.95) which is about half the price you'd pay in a shop.

Thanks!!! Yeah i'll use the phone books but i'll look out for some cheap steps or invest in some when I have a bit more money :)

I've also come across quite a few step dvd's so I can't wait to get one and try it out!

I just found one for $29.95 ($7.95 postage and handling) from CrazySales.com.au.

I don't think you'd find an aerobic step any cheaper than that. I've never bought from that site, though, so I can't tell you if they're reliable or not.
