hey sarah, if your a keen walker why dont you start the couch to 5km running program, runnings a great exercise and this is one of the better programs ive come across. check out your library for exercise dvds, aus post has some for 13bucks each at the mo, and they are really good.

Here are some ideas:

Dancing class
Boxing class
Bike riding (u can hire bikes out and do river rides etc depending on where you are)
Pilates & yoga .. get a book and some pilates bands
To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are

Hey SarahM!
Well - I have been exercising solidly for 6 months now and quite high intensity but this morning I put on my running shoes and went for an ACTUAL run and I must say *snooze* haha... I know lots of people like running but I guess it just isnt for me! I love walking with a friend but what really gets me going are:

spin classes
netball matches
oz tag games
body combat classes
pilates/body balance
BIKE RIDING!

I love riding my bike hehe... Hope that helps!! Once you find something you love you wont want to miss doing it I ride everyday - not alwasy heaps far but everyday!! :D

I think the real trick is to do something that you enjoy - here are some different ideas now that summer is approaching that are free and get you out in the open and give you a really good workout:

  • Beach Paddleball or Frescobol
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Join an outdoor swimming club at your local rockpool - they'll keep you motivated and involved.
  • Bushwalking club - socialise as well as improve your fitness.
