how many calories to burn for calories eaten

Postby countrymum83 » Sat Oct 09, 2010 3:01 pm

Got a question.... about eating calories and burning calories

Ive only been eating around the 500-600 calories a day, so how many calories would i need to burn with this intake to lose weight? I dont know what my normal intake should be for calories...

Pass... I don't go in for the calorie counting business myself. I just couldn't be bothered. Though it would make me lose weight by dint of the fact that I'd think, "hmm, I wonder how many calories would be in this.... oh stuff it, can't be bothered calculating, don't eat it".

There's be plenty of calculators out there to work that out I bet. CalorieKing perhaps?

Hey thanks, i only just started doing the whole calorie thing, but i only really stick to foods that i know are in low calories, if i dont know how many like you dont eat it... but im just keeping a rough guess on what i do eat..

Ive tried to look up on the net about it all and one site says u gotta burn more then you eat, then another site says to burn about 400cal to 1700 cal, so its kinda hmm yeah right... lol

well for me i just look at all the labels on the back before i buy or eat them,
and try not to eat things that taste nice cos most of the time they are really fatty n high in calories
just keep thinking u havent done enough excersise and continue doing it,
that should keep u motivated for excersise
step by step and you will get there... eventually....

you really need to be eating at least double that amount, eating 500 - 600 cals a dad without doctors supervision is dangerous and could lead to some serious health side affects. The absolute minimum anyone should be eating is 1200 cals, if your feel the calorie deficit is not large enough then exercise more but dont eat any less then 1200

Totally agree with Mitch .. eating 5-600 calories a day is unsustainable I'm afraid.
it all depends on your height, censored, weight and all that but your body burns upwards of 1300 a day without you even doing anything. (google BMR and find out what you would be burning anyway) and really you don't want to be eating under that amount.

I guess everyone has their own theories but I firmly think that you arne't eating enough :D

Agree with the others when you should be eating at least double that depending on your weight and height.
Also don't just look at calories to loose weight, look at everything that's in the food your eating.
Sodium is a big thing people tend to miss on looking at but alot of foods are really high sodium but low fat yet still not healthy.

Calorieking is a awesome free site for counting calories tho.
