Treadmill problems

Hi everyone. My name is James and I am trying to slowly (very slowly) get involved in running to maximize my weight loss. For some reason when I walk or run on a treadmill, my body freaks out. I have no issues running on any outside surface like gravel, asphalt or anything else. Whenever I get on a treadmill, and I run without holding the supports, my ankles buckle, my legs tense, my knees stiffen, i lose all balance and my body just generally freaks.I was just wondering if anyone knows what the cause might be or even some tips to avoid it in future?

I also can't run on a treadmill... just feels all weird and I can't get the stride right. Much prefer to run in "real life" if I'm going to run. I'd never make a good hamster! :lol:

The only thing I'd suggest is practice practice practice, and maybe try adjusting the speed up or down because you might be over or under estimating your running speed. Good luck with it in any case!
