Postby Xcastle » Sat Jul 23, 2011 6:55 pm

So i've just stated jogging because walking was a bit too boring for me, i properly warmed up and everything but after i had finished i felt like i was going to spew? This can't be normal, even though i am not very fit, but i want to keep this jogging up so what have i done wrong?

Sounds like you probably went too fast. If your heart rate goes flying and you're not used to it it can result in you feeling like vomitting when you stop / are forced to stop. A heart rate monitor is pretty cheap and will be useful to you for jogging. (Though if you know you're going to be serious about it just fork out and get one of those garmin forerunner watches with the bluetooth heart rate monitor. The older models work fine too. Should be able to grab one for $100. I think just a cheap HRM can be found for ~$30.

E.g. http://www.highlytunedathletes.com.au/G ... B43CE.html

$300 AUD new. I'm sure you could find one much cheaper though used on ebay for more like $100-150.

I would also monitor what and when you are eating before you go for a jog. I know with me, if i eat too close to exercise I tend to feel faint cause all the blood is rushing to my tummy for digestions. Then again if you don't eat anything you might feel faint just cause there are no energy reserves for your body to draw on. I would probably eat something about 60mins before your jog and make it something quite light like some yoghurt.
Hope that helps:)
