Too big for a treadmill!

Postby Ally » Sun Feb 11, 2007 7:12 am

WEll if ever I needed any extra motivation to continue on my weight loss journey I have found it!!

I have been looking into buying a treadmill, just for something a bit extra and I can't buy one until I am down to 125kg! (You can get a 150kg rated one, but it is like $2600  ) So if I really want one I guess I have to work my @rse off to lose 27kg until I can even think about it!!!

Wow, that sucks Ally :( :( :( Grrr! Bugger paying $2600 for one :( Have you thought about trying to get a 2nd hand one??

It is a good incentive but what a kick in the pants :( Hang in there girly!

Jeez what a pain in the bum. It's the same as bigger clothes they make you pay more for pretty much the same thing. Yes, I know they use more material but seriously does it have to cost $10-20 more! Sorry, ranting here, that always really peeved me off.

It is certainly a good incentive Ally, but crikey!

Yeah I know what you mean Kim, don't get me started on the price/style of clothing for bigger sizes!!!

They say get up and exercise, but I guess they think that anyone over that weight can't lose weight or something!! LOL

Hi Ally,

How about HIRING ??? Image
Some centres will have machines that cater to the heavier customer and it can help you get down until you decide to buy.

In theory that is a great idea Pepper....however I looked into it some months ago and decided that Rockhampton is just a rip off with their pricing!! It was going to cost $39 PER WEEK (160 per month), this was the cheapest and when I asked about the weight thing he said that "those" models will cost you $49 per week ( I kid you not!!!) and that is just money that we don't have to spare!! Needless to say, I think I am just going to wait until I hit the 125kg mark (it might make me achieve it a bit quicker)

Thanks for the suggestion though Pepper!!!

For goodness SAKE!!! WHEN are people going to realise that just becuase we're fat doesn't mean we're rich, dammit!!!!!

I am so sick of people charging extra for a product that "accomodates the large person" BITE ME! I don't need to pay $10 extra for a top that looks revolting anyway, I don't really see how a treadmill that will take my weight is worth the extra money - because isn't the whole point that I will be losing the bloody weight anyway??!!!??

And don't even get me started on how damn hard it is to find a bra that fits in my price range!

gggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Looks like there's definitely a niche market there for good looking and inexpensive clothes and underwear in larger sizes. I know there's a few smaller scale businesses going great. Huge potential there... now who has the $$ to start something up??? :P

Ally now there is a great idea for a reward for reaching 125kg - a new treadmill yay :D
