Pole Dancing

Postby Chelle » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:11 am

Has anyone done pole dancing for fitness or tried it before :?: :?: When I move to newcastle I want to try it I think it would be really fun thing to do & it would be a great workout. When I went down there last long weekend I saw that they teach pole dancing classes. Not that I would ever do it as a profession or anywhere else for that matter only for a exercise thing to do.

There is a pole dancing studio next to a friends office and I can hear them when I visit - those chicks running the class sound positively militant! I bet it's a fantastic workout, but I've never tried it.
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

My friend does pole dancing. She says you get such a fantastic workout. Even if you don't have upper body strength you certainly gain it as the class’s progress. She also said you feel more confident and attractive.

Definitely give it a go. It's always fun to try new things.

I loved to do pole dancing, but I reckon after I've finished (that's assuming I actually got to stay on it without falling off) IT (the pole) would need some serious therapy!!!!

Apparently here in Adelaide there were a bunch of gyms that started installing poles for women to come and have a workout. Can't say I ever walked into one of those gyms, but I've been told that it is the best form of exercise a girl can ever get. If I was a tad lighter (say 40kgs..) then I may think about it, but hubby has always said he's quite happy to install one in the loungeroom and he'd "help" with the encouragement side of things!.. MEN!!!

Anyways, give it a go, if you really feel uncomfortable about it, then don't go back again. As they say, you never know until you give it a go!

I have a friend who's a stripper and she's an excellent pole dancer. she has abs of steel and amazing upper body strength. I'd love to try out pole dancing, but I'm afraid the prices for tuition are way out of my budget and I dislike wearing little shorts.

They recommend you wear little shorts otherwise there wouldn't be enough friction between you and the pole to allow you to do some of the moves.

$16 is quite a lot. I only get paid $36 a week parading at the reserves and I need that money for food.
