Toning the arms

Postby HappyBella55 » Wed Aug 29, 2007 7:34 pm

Help!!!

As I was getting dressed for work this arvo I was looking at my tuckshop lady arms and noticed that I have cellulite on my arms - GASP   :x :x

How do I go about toning my arms?? SOrry if this sounds like a stupid question but I have no idea what exercises I should be doing.

All I know how to do is push-ups. Will that help?

Is it possible to get rid of the tuckshop lady arms?

Desperately seeking all your expert advice :D

Push ups are probably better for toning your biceps but tricep dips are perfect for your triceps and getting rid of your tuckshop lady arms! Use a chair or couch and rest your hands on the back of the chair while your legs are out in front of you, knees bent at right angles and then slowly lower your butt toward the floor and then back up again. Once these become easier, move your legs out further and eventually have your feet at the same level as your hands. Really tough! Bye bye tuck shop lady arms.

I should also add that overall fat loss helps with toning as there's less fat covering the muscle - you'll notice the muscles more as you lose weight :)
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

Thanks milkyway. When I first read tricep dips I was like what is that- then you explained it perfectly. I am going to do a set in the morning before my shower and and night before bed.

I hope you're right with the weight going from there quickly. My arms look overly big and floppy :?

Anyways thanks for your reply.

I have a Winsor Pilates Upper Body DVD. it's the BEST! You notice a difference after just a few times but it's a KILLER at first.

Butterfly_Dawn, you make think me crazy but I can't fathom how cycling is good for the arms. Legs I can see the connection - arms are just there doing nothing lol

I'm not quite fit enough to be doing cycling. Although it would save me lots of money on bus and petrol. But then again I'm a chicken and couldn't handle riding on the road

That's what I thought too - until I started cycling. If you are real world cycling, your arms aren't just sitting there dong nothing, they hold your upper body up, you use them to break, and steer and maneuvre and then on hills you are pulling on the handlebars too. My arms have toned up heaps just from cycling!
