If its something heavey eat it after you go to the gym but if its light like fruit eat before (especially if you are starving and feeling light headed). This is just my opinion and I find that I don't feel too good if I exercise with a full tummy

I can't exercise after eating. I feel sick and get stitches if I do. If I am really hungry and there's no other way I will have a glass of juice to give me some energy before hand

If you are doing cardio I would strongly advise on eating something before hand, even like a piece of bread or an apple. You could get really lethargic, and you wont have the energy to work out.

Too much food and you'll get a stitch, no food and you'll get a stitch, we can never win!

If you're on a diet, best bet is your body wouldn't have stored enough glycogen in your liver to give you the energy to exercise on an empty stomach, so eat a light meal like a handfull of almonds and a rice paper roll. I eat A LOT of bread which means, empty stomach or not, I can still do hard cardio 6 hours after breakfast and 3 hours before lunch. That's the amazing power of bread!

Everyone on a diet should be eating 6 small meals a day. It sounds excessive but one meal could be a protein shake or piece of fruit and water. You should wait 1 hour after your workout before you eat. I find if i eat before my workout it makes me feel sick.
