HELP

Postby raiders07 » Mon Oct 15, 2007 2:14 am

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I am in urgent need of some help. My goal is to lose 15 kg and tone up. When I say tone up I don't mean enter the next Mr Muscle Competition, I just want to look respectable.

I am able to lose weight but find it hard to tone up and lose fat around the stomach, arms and legs, this is something that becomes quite irritating. I am able to exercise regularly but always struggle when making healthy food choices.

Overall I would like to tone up, lose 15 kg and strengthen all the muscles in my body so I do not wear down easily.

I would like to know if anyone is able to help me with what sought of exercises I could participate in from home or any particular food and recipies that you have found helpful (Preferably ones that are easy to prepare). I also own a set of dumbells.

Thankyou for your help.

Look forward to hearing your replies,

Cheers

if you wat to improve muscle tone, the strength exercises are the go. All the usual suspects, situps, pushups, chinups, lunges, squats...

To lose fat, cardio is good. Combine them if you like by carrying extra weights

As far as food choices - have a squiz at the recipe section!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"You can't change the winds, but you can change the sails"

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"

i agree with butterfly!

I have been doing crunches, pushups, weights (7.5kg i think), tricep dips, lunges and squats and have noticed the fat around my arms legts and stomach is dissappearing.

I also do High intensity interval training on the treadmil (1.5mins going fast walking .5mins joggin/running over and over for 20mins)

So i do cardio and strength and find its working well :)

as with foods, i just cut out junk food. no lollies, chocolate, takeaway, chips etc. I find that i dont even want it now :) i lost nearly 6kgs so far and alot was to do with changing my eating :)

I am way more sensible now, but yeah it takes like 28days to make a habit :p you'll get there.

i want to lose 19kgs and be only slightly toned too :p

YOU CAN DOOO IT!!!!!

[First goal: to reach 80kgs]
[Second goal: to reach 75kgs]

Here are some exercises and some useful info on exercises:

As for the food... I found a really good way to make sure I don't overeat is to weigh my food out so I know that I'm getting a serving size. Also, drink water straight after you eat as it will make you feel fuller :) By the time you feel a little less full you will know if you are really still hungry or not.
