Today is the first day of my new life!!

Postby ice_queen1969 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:37 pm

Signed up to KM yesterday and started today with the help and encouragement of my partner. I have several KGs to lose but i am looking one step at a time and I know it will take a while.

I was quite large before I took ill with MS and diabetes and when in hospital for my initial attack of MS lost approx 35kgs. I am aiming for losing about 15kgs to start with and then probably another 20-30 depending on what I look like. (i dont like to look all skin and bone! lol) like when I last lost all my weight at 12yo.

I am determined that this time, is the last time so it is all coming off and staying off. That is my pledge :D

I feel like a wild beast with hunger 6 days and i havent really strayed off too far. I feel so tired from "lack of food" but i am going to stick with it and see what the result is after weighin tomorrow.

Felt so hungry even had "hissy fits" with my carer/partner

I hope it is a good weigh in for you. I don't like to undermine what you are doing to lose weight, but if you are always hungry it may be a good idea to look at what you eat and see if you can use you allowance in way that you feel more comfortable. I felt starving last night and had a big bowl of steaming veggies to stop me from picking around the house. But I know that I can do that and not affect my weight loss.

weight loss after a week of torture!!!

Postby ice_queen1969 » Sun Jan 20, 2008 10:18 am

:D Well guys, I have weighed in after a week and found that i have a 1.6 kg loss. Feeling a bit better about myself now and not so snakey about being on the diet.........

I told my co-ordinator about the problems I was having especially with my medications on an empty tummy and she has advised me to have myself 1 cup of cornflakes and 1/2 cup or so of milk then take my diabex and my bloodpressure medication. I did this and havent had any problems with my bowels. I still have to have my morning shake also but i dont have to have morning tea and im a happy camper now.

Has anybody experienced their bodily urge to continue to go for a walk???? I just had the urge the otherday when in town not only to walk everywhere, but walk at such a fast pace and continue on even though I was very fatigued from doing so (I have MS so fatigue is often and issue and I suffer from it about 2-3 days after having done it. I is like my metabolism just kicked into overdrive and i couldnt help myself..............................

Woo Hoo !!!!!!!!!!!! after a disappointing week last week, I have now lost another 1.2Kg and even cheated a little bit too but not bad enough to make a weight gain again like last week, I put on 1kg but found I dropped a size in my shorts to a 22 now and not a 24 or 26. I feel so much better now knowing that my "gain last week" was actually a loss of centimetres rather than Kilograms.

congrats ice queen! your body must have been adjusting to all the changes last week - it's great losing cm's but nothing quite beats the scales

Wow! Dropping a shorts size is a great achievement. Well done! I'm sure you'll be fitting into even smaller sizes soon. You'll have to start getting ones with drawstrings or belts so that they don't start falling down on you.

Hi all, had another great loss this week another .6kg so all up 2.8kg so far. The shorts are now swimming on my and my waist measurement has dropped by 3cm  B/f wanted me to go out and buy another shorts size down again, but couldn't afford it this week so probably next fortnight or maybe when he is working again he might shout me another smaller pr 8) he is so proud of how I am doing it.

Had to have blood tests done last fortnight because my Dr thought I may have had coeliac disease with my bowel problem but has come back negative for the disease. Probably just the KM and my MS playing up. The test results have now just opened up more questions on why things are like they are. It is pretty bad when you seem to spend most of the day in the toilet and are too scared to get out or go for a reasonable long walk for fear of messing the pants

Anyway, will report in again next week when I weigh and measure again.
