hi everyone
im brooke im 18 and really need to start losing weight.
i weigh 84.3kg currently and want to at least 20kg.
alot i kno but im willing to do anything. made a goal of 2 months atm to see how much weight i can lose for my partners 21st birthday i want to look hott for him i want to wear a nice sexy dress as its important to me.
i need as much help, advice anything you got throw it my way.
currently weight loss plan is
waking up at 6am taking a weight loss supplement (for women) 2 capsules then jump on treadmil for 40 mins just for the first week then going to add 40 mins in the afternoon when possible. then breakfast is small bowl of oat cereal which is wholegrain too and alternate it with scrambled eggs. lunch 1 capsule of weight loss supplement & alternate between chicken/ham salad or fish and veges. then dinner alternate between fish & veges or soup.
cutting out soft drinks, alcohol.
take away only now consists of subway or a deli choice from maccas.
hoping this will give me good results for 2 months time.

Don't be disappointed when you don't lose 20kg in two months...an healthy loss is .5kg - 1kg a week. It sounds like you are not going to be eating enough, it sounds strange, but eating too little can be just as bad for weight loss, as eating too much!

And don't waste your time or money on weight loss pills, if they worked, everyone would be thin!

no i didnt mean i want to lose it all in 2 months i kno thats not possible. eating enough i usually add in snacks like healthy ones between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner and its a supplement that i have done research on that i kno works. its not a waste of money when it comes to it.

brooke: Goodluck,keep a food and exercise diary so it can keep u on track. Make sure your doing your weights and drinking enough water and u should do fine.
what are the tablets are u taking?
When i get back into things ill be having protein shakes to help me so no matter what anyone else says give what u want a try(legal things hehe).
Im sure u will looking great in your dress even 5kgs makes a difference so put your mind to it and u should do fine.

food and exercise diary yes will do that. ill buy a diary this afternoon. doing weights i have 2x1kg i think dumbells they would be ok wouldnt they. hydroxicut max for women. yeh im not a big fan on protein shakes myself but yeh every one is different yeh like i dnt expect to lose 20kg in 2 months i kno myself its not possible its just i want to lose weight to look gorgeous and buy a dress like size 12 or 14

I looked at hydroxy cut but heard in america they had heaps recalled but nothing got recalled in oz so not sure where the ones sold in oz get made.
I brought a dumbbell set when i first started which had something like 2x.5kgs, 2x1.5kgs and 2x2kgs i then upgraded to adjustable dumbbells.
What day are u weighing in? are u taking ur measurements?

yeah certain hydroxicuts are recalled but thats all been fixed the max one i have has been out for a while and hasnt had a problem its the other ones like the new one that wnt be in aus. yeah with the dumbells not too sure wat to do with them. like i hate having them with me when im on treadmil so unless i find another way to use them.. i weigh in tuesdays as i weighed myself tuesday just gone as thats when ive decicded i have to start and not stop this time. measurements no cause im never accute with them and yeah...

ok so a week tomorrow i have been trying to lose weight unfortunately first week isnt always easy. let my self down a bit by eating food that i should have. although gone pretty good in drinks wise had a couple of sips of soft drink but other than that its been water which im proud of cause usually i would drink heaps of soft drink. but just have to nail down on not eating out and when i do choose the healthy option which i still did but not over weekend as much. weekend went down hill as i didnt exercise. was thinking if i exercise for 40 mins a day some days 2x40 mins then ill be right and wnt have to worry bout it on weekend. but i'll weigh in tomorrow and post my loss if there is any which im not sure there will be.

ok so weighed in today at 83.9 not a lot of loss but its still a loss. i know that i let my self down a bit this week but first week is always hard.

Hey brookeelizabeth,

All the best on your weight loss journey! Mind over matter- you can make it happen. Something I learnt though, don't push yourself too hard with the exercising... chances are you will fall off the wagon if you jump straight into the deep end with so much exercising. Try baby steps... a few times a week at half a hour.. or more, but nothing strenous.. then slowly build up to more intense workouts.

thanks mary123. yeah currently doing 40 mins a day if i dnt have to work its twice a day. but yeah i can make it happen and i will. i kinda fell off target when i feel bit sick i tend to let it take over but yeah..

With the dumbells you might want to try resistance training on a few days, like some basic lunges, squats, dumbell bicep curls etc. If you google around there are a whole bunch of different ones that you might want to try. I get my demos from weight watchers (but I'm a member and non-members can't access them) but the ones I do are called: Front Arm Raises (do with the dumbells), Overhead Dumbbell Presses, Basic Dumbbell Curls, Dumbbell Leg Extensions, Basic Squats (can be done with or without dumbells when you raise your arms to help squat), Lunges, Front Leg Crosses, and Side Steps (which I do sometimes while doing the overhead dumbell presses). Do them for about 10 to 15 minutes 2 to 3 times a week and you will see yourself starting to tone up and your feel muscles getting stronger.
Goal for 2010: Be at most 99.9kg by 31st December 2010

That's a perfect amount... I know where I started working out, 30 minutes of cardio a day worked perfectly.. then like 15 of weights or sit ups. It's good to mix it up though otherwise you get bored easily- that's what I found out anyways! hah! :D
