Getting my a$$ out of the triple digits!

Postby FatFukShrinking » Fri May 14, 2010 2:51 pm

I'm 116 kilos, female.

My goal is to get my a$$ out of triple digits for the last time. I have gone in and out of triple digits many times, this has got to be the last time i do this to myself! Does anyone else have the same challenge? Getting myself to 99kilos is my first major goal, then i will deal with the rest.

Hi :)

I'm not following a specific plan. I've done just about every diet known to man, i always get tired of it, and tired of wasting my money! What i am trying to do is eat in a way that is healthy and sustainable, and trying to get myself stronger by exercising.

I try and eat 3 main meals, and 2-3 smaller snackish type meals of fruit, nuts, low fat yogurt, 1 piece of dark chocolate

Eating every 2-3 hours

NO EATING AT NIGHT! lol big change for me, so i will try and not eat about 3-4 hours before bed

I'm drinking 3 litres of water a day, cutting out soft drinks

Limiting alcohol - I don't want to totally cut it out of my life, because i know i won't stick to it in the long term

Switching to wholemeal / multi grain breads, sticking to only eating bread at lunch

I love my potatoes but i'm cutting them out and having sweet potato if i feel like baked vegetables

Cooking with olive oil

Eating some form of protein with all my main meals

I can't do much exercise at this point (really unfit!) - so i'm just progressing in stages

It is working for me so far, i'll tweak it as i go along... depending on results.

What about you? Are you on a plan?

Your plan sounds really sensible! :)

When I lost the weight last time I didnt cut anything out, I just stopped eating as much and tried to be healthier 95% of the time.. If i wanted a chocolate I would have a bit if I wanted chips I would have a handful rather than a whole packet etc.

I find when I cut things out completely I fail :P. as for excercise I am going to start walking again and just try to slowly ease back into sit ups etc but I had a ceaser and I tried some sit ups the other night and my scar was hurting a bit (its only been 8 weeks), so I will slowly work into those.

You don't want to hurt yourself! Walking is good, some people lose all their weight just by a sensible diet and walking. I'm slowly easing into exercise because i'm wayyyy out of shape lol.

I'm with you about cutting things out. If i tell myself i can't have stuff, it makes me want it more, ultimately i end up going crazy and binging on it. It's healthier for me to just have it, but have a small serving of it, or a taste.

Are you taking a multivitamin? I take 1 a day. Yuck they are gross to swallow lol

Vit D ? Is that when you don't get enough sunshine?

Oh! White chocolate cake. YUM. You have to sneak a slice of that lol. I struggle with the weekends, to me weekends are the time where i want to kick back, have a drink or two and eat crap! It's hard to get out of that mindset. It doesn't feel like i am taking the weekend off when i have to eat so healthy.

Do you have cheat meals? I was thinking i will allow myself 1 cheat meal every 2 or 3 weeks. Not a crazy over the top binge session, maybe just a meal out or a couple of slices of pizza and dvds!

I'm a bit scared about cheat meals, because sometimes it's hard to get back on track the next day. It's like i get the taste for junk food again lol. What do you think about the idea of having cheat meals? Bad idea?

Hey FFS,

Sounds like you've got a sensible plan going! With the potatoes though, don't cut them out! I eat them all the time, they rock! A 250g potato only has about 170 calories in it - you could bake one up, have some light caesar dressing, a bit of bacon and some salad - have a caesar salad baked potato for around 300 calories :) Sometimes I cut them like chips and bake them with some spray oil, have them with a bit of baked fish... anyway, point is, if you love them, don't cut them out!

You sound really motivated hun, keep up the awesome work!!!

I'm with yellowroses, don't cut out the potatoes! There really is no need. I've lost nearly 50kg and I eat potatoes on a regular basis. If you can fit them into your calorie intake for the day - go for it!

Hiya FFS

I am in a similar situation to you. 110kgs and needing to lose weight and get fit once and for all. Like you, I am sick of it being an issue in my life. I am not your typical yo-yo dieter. I have only tried a few things - Calorie counting, Lite'n'Easy and low gi. I am hopeless at exercise (I dont, except for light walking). I have Polycystic Ovaries so low gi eating is best for me. I really want to get below 100kgs. AND STAY THERE!!!!
Your eating plan sounds similar to mine (being the CSIRO total wellbeing plan). It is easy to follow - especially, if you like to cook.

Good luck to you! See you in the forums :)

I'm kind of in the same boat, but I kept trying diets that helped me get from 100kg down to 97kg or similar, then I'd lose motivation and go back up to 100kg.
But now that I'm 100.6kg, by next week, I plan to never be in the 100's again!

Your diet plan sounds really good, and similar to mine.

I wish you luck with it all! :D
