Tummygirls Road To A Healthy Me

Postby Tummygirl » Mon Oct 08, 2007 11:49 am

Hey People

Well Im just so excited about this new section....so heres a little stuff about me.

In the Before and After section you wil find the pictures of me before i decided to address my weight problem. As a child and teenager I was alwaysn a little bit bigger that some of the kids but parents and family would always say ahhhh dont worry about it, its all just puppy fat. Going into my later teens i was always on a diet and at that stage my weight stayed around the same and i was a confortable 16 so i really didnt think anything more about..i was plump but i was ok.

Im now 25 and my starting weight was 135kg and boy was it a wake up call. Apart from the fact that i couldnt bare to look at myself in the mirror my body was starting to tell me to stop this now.

Now 5 weeks into eating healthy and on the road to recovery i am feeling better and better each day. I have lost 7 kgs so far and tonight i weigh again so fingers crossed. I always thought that dieting was boring and something that i always failed in the past, but now it is apart of my everyday life and I can quite easy say no to temptation and yes to the rest of my life being fit and healthy.

Any my body is saying THANKYOU!!!

Hey Tummygirl

Welcome to the new section! I am looking forward to seeing you reach your goal weight. 7kg is an amazing accomplishment thus far. you should be grinning from ear to ear.

BTW i think you are doing a great thing for your health :) i remember watching that show that was called something like 'you're killing your kids' or something along those lines and it was an australian show and they showed that changing all these habits to healthier ones can extend your life. if that isnt motivational then i dont know what is!

best wishes!!

The WW wedges are quite small in size (a bit like they were taken from runt potatoes or something  ) they are ok though. I usually get the healthy choice wedges as personally I like the flavour better.

Stir fry's are always good and quick....have a quick looksey in the healthy recipes section and see if anything takes your fancy....I love the 5 minute singapore noodles recipe....I will see if I can dig it out for you.

Ok will have to post that recipe for the 5 minute singapore noodles but here is another quick dish I love to make when the weather turns warm or hot....

"Creamy" Chicken Satay Salad - Serves 4

300g chicken, cooked and skinned and shredded
3 cups crunchy salad vegetables (I use more)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Dressing:
2 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter (no licking the spoon!)
2 tablespoons light sour cream
1 tablespoon low fat mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
125ml low-fat natural yoghurt

*Combine the dressing ingredients together in a large bowl.

**Add the salad veges and shredded chicken. Serve in lettuce leaves

Can be served with a jacket potato.

This recipe is from the Weigh Less Naturally Program and the breakdown is as follows:

2 Protein servings - chicken and peanut butter
1/2 Dairy serve - yoghurt
15 optional indulgences - sour cream and mayonnaise

This is a lovely recipe that is quick and easy and tastes delish!! You won't know it is a low fat version!!!
