Court is ALMOST where? :)

Postby court » Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:23 pm

Hi guys -
I have been on the forums for a little while but am a bit lost wandering around so thank you to CC who invited me over cos i guess i am ALMOST there!! :) Well I am feeling pretty good and positive anyways so lets see how we go :)

I go to the gym 3 - 5 times a week, walk 30mins/4km every day to work, play in a netball team and train once a week, once a week play a 1hr game! I play C so i consider that a workout ;) I also try to drink 1.5 - 2 L of water a day. I am currently eating 1500 calories a day and have been told I shouldnt really drop below that because of my activity level... I have lost an average of 800gms a week for the last 10 or 11 weeks :)

So right now I am 72.3kg
Want to be hmmm 65kg? (if I can do it!)

Can't wait to meet you all!

You certainly get a lot of exercise in Court! Good on you. I'm looking forward to reading about your progress here. I'm sure with your determination it won't take you long to get to goal!

Hi Court,

Glad to have you here :) we can motivate eachother! C is a workout back in my hey day (ie 7-17) i played GD (probably because of my height hehe). I'd like to get back into it maybe next year, unfortunately having surgery this year so not a good idea til i'm all healed. I'm 25 btw

That's a lot of sport for a kid! I find talking to people who have similar athletic backgrounds, the problem seems to be that you need to eat a lot to sustain that kind of sporting level, and when you stop playing sport your body doesn't need so much food, but because you're used to it you keep eating at that level, and hence put on weight.

Giardia sounds v uncool - what is it?

How many strength sessions you doing per week?

I missed that you said you had giardia there Court. Yuck! I had that once and it was most unpleasant. I didn't even have to go overseas to get it. I caught it from drinking the water in St Kilda. Nasty stuff, but at the time I was happy about losing a heap of weight. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone as a weight loss solution, though. Not a very sociable condition to have.

Giardia is a tummy bug caused by a parasite, CC. It's a nasty one that causes abdominal pain and diarrhea, as well as a really bloaty, rumbly, gassy tummy.

Haha thanks EWQ I have gotten myself a bit addicted and when i dont exercsie i feel a bit yuck! I couldnt sleep last night cos i missed my spin class :(

Im 25 too! :) Yeah I love the old netball - it doesnt always love me though - I dislocated my thumb last year and I am still back and forth from specialists and have to wear a brace :(

Yeah we were very active kids! And that is exactly it - we ate like teenage boys! I remember breakfast after training being three weetbix with tinned fruit then two pieces of toast and juice!! 3 sandwiches for lunch lots of fruit etc etc... no wonder i was sorta destined to struggle a little bit - it was a catch 22 cos we were ridiculously healthy kids then as we became teenagers it was awfully tough to maintain!

Giardia is a horrendous bug in your system...i caught it from white water rafting the zambezi river and drinking my fair share! Lets just say you cant keep anythign in your system - both ends! and i was camping...need i say more!!

At the moment I am only doing 1 - 2. I would love to be doing three but I am shot for time!

*SIGH* i was really naughty last night. I dont know what was wrong with me! I am doing so well 99% of the time but last night when I got home I had one of those mini slivers of Club...the ones that are "below 80 calories" then I had my dinner and all was going well.... I sat on the lounge, took last night off the gym cos i was feeling a bit sniffly! Then my man went to the gym and he had bought himself two mars red for work (he is doing night shift, 11pm - 9am!) and he left them on the bench. Lets just say when he got home from the gym there was only ONE on the bench :(
I am of the absolute definite opinion that as long as these things arent in the house - which they never are - I dont want them! but as soon as they are in front of me i just HAVE to have them... :x at least i didnt eat both of them i guess haha.
Anyways netball training tonight for 1 1/2 hours so hopefully it will be well out of my system!!! I dont feel like rubbish AT ALL today and I got my fix and it so wasnt worth it
Anyways I dont really like to tell my JC consultant these things...I know that is what she is there for! Haha - maybe I will tell her on Monday - as long as I have lost weight!! Eek!

I know! Why wont he learn! haha
He is such a softie - even when he is eating a toasted sandwich or something yummy that i shouldnt be eating i will give him "that look" and he'll sigh and give me a bite. I think i need to tell him to go tough on me!!!!
No more!!!!!

You know what though, it's the stigma we attach to certain foods. I say enjoy your treat, but don't do it again tomorrow. The main thing (as i was told by a food coach at the gym) is that you have your treat meal or whatever of the week, enjoy it, then go back to normal the next day. We sabotage ourselves by having a treat, then going nuts on food because we think what's the point i've ruined it now!

That's why it's good to have a meal where you don't deprive yourself of anything, enjoy it, then know that next week you can have another treat meal. That way its easier to keep accountable through the week.

Was it a nice chocolate? I havent had a mars bar red before. You know its not 50% less of mars bars, on the pack it says '50% less then the average chocolate bar on the market' or somehting lol i miss boosts they were my absolute fave!!

I did enjoy it CC and i really dont feel like one today! In fact it was someones birthday today at work and someone just came to my desk witha big hunk of jam and cream scroll and I wasnt even slightly into it (chocolate cake ont he other hand  ). so i feel good for that choice right now!
The mars red is ok - i would liken it to a milkyway i think!! They dont have much fat but like 660kjs or something so i think it is more the sugar! I havent eaten something sugary like that in a while so it was a bit much!!! oops.

LOL i go nuts for chocolate and icecream. My absolute FAVE and hardest thing to contain. I'm a total dessert girl, the richer the better!!!! hahaha. My bf thinks its funny - what i'll do for icecream sometimes. Oh well hehehe :) i used to be a savoury girl, not sure what turned the tides! That and cheese. Thats my savoury fave - crackers with dip and cheese! I just make sure if i have it on the weekend, its mozarella cheese, low fat jatz and tomato (my bf's fave snack for some reason) a couple of those makes me happy :)

With your weightloss just see how you go at each weight, that's what i've done. People tell me im crazy to want to loose 10 more kilos, but they don't see my naked thighs like i do LOL that's why i've upped strength sessions, so i dont get overly skinny because i'll be building more muscle :)

wow so you are finding that too? everyone keeps saying that to me too - "halfway?? where is it going to come from?!" hell i can see where it is gonna come from! I can HOLD IN MY HAND where it is going to come from! haha
Oh man I am exactly the same! Maybe not ice cream - but chocolate, cheese and dip...my bf jokes that "dip is his favourtie food group" haha...why does everything bad have to taste so good? Sometimes i have weird cravings for a cheeseburger too.
I have not had ANY form of take away (kfc, maccas, red rooster etc) in 3 months!!!! Wow...

I have a thing for cheeseburgers...I allow myself a couple of them a month. McDonalds cheeseburgers are only 284 calories, so not too bad in that respect!
