OK so 5-6kgs to go

Postby Jaded » Fri Jun 19, 2009 10:27 am

I know it doesn't sound like much but I feel as though these last few are the hardest to be rid of, am sort of tempted to do the vlcd shake thing just to get rid of them, even thinking of getting the gabriel method book too. Anyways I just need to put it out there and feel accountable, been reading a few things here and there on the forum and found some helpful tips to arm myself with, so wish me luck, I'll report back each Friday to "weigh in" :D going to go fill up my 2L water bottle for the day!

Hi Jaded! Hi Kellicopter! The last few ARE the hardest....but if you stay determined you'll get there! My last 4 kgs have taken almost 7 weeks to take off and I've still got 3 to go until I'm at my goal weight! I was hoping it would all take 10 weeks but no such luck!!!! I'm determined to keep it all off though, so I'm not really fussed as to how long it takes, as long as the numbers are moving in the right direction!!

There are heaps of discussions about VL cal and shakes etc and I don't really want to start a war about them, but I think if you're close to your goal then they're going to be a short-term fix. Maybe good if you're trying to lose weight for an event or something, but not in the long run. My theory is, the longer it takes to get the weight off, the longer it stays off! (or something like that). You can't keep drastic diets up for too long. Having said that I know that shake diets and VL cal diets definitely have their place. (is that even enough!)

Welcome guys (gals?). Good luck!!!

Been a long time since I was here and I need to get motivated, I'm back to 54kg, I'm a chronic binger (think it's some sort of OCD thing for me) and really I just need to get my habits under control, I would like to get down to 50kgs because really I'm quite short and I also think that losing a few kg will help me run faster (a goal of mine) that's all for now :D

It is a lot easier once the binge eating is under control. I have issues with that too. I have upped my calories by a couple of hundred and it has helped immensly! I might take a little longer to lose the weight, but it takes a lot longer when binging on a regular basis!

The VCLD isn't a great idea, it'll slow your metabolism down, which is the last thing you want to do!

Didn't end up doing the vlcd thing too yukky for me, going to try the high protein low carb thing (censored method) and see how that goes, I'm a bread addict

itis the hardest time when there is a little left to your aim. i'm on a diet and encourage myself to finish the last week. after this i won't be so strict to myself. but now i also need to shed some pound during two last weeks. i guess they will be the hardest and full of temptation.
