Not Much To Lose

Postby loveat116 » Tue Oct 09, 2007 12:42 pm

New board! Woot.

Anyway, do you guys think its HARDER to lose weight when your closer to goal? Or when your already in the healthy weight range?

Its tough, cause as a smaller person you dont need as much food as a bigger person, and you need to work harder to burn calories.

This post has really no point, just that weight loss is hard!

It does get harder because your body think's that it is at your healthy weight range but your mind dosent that why it is harder to get to those last stubbon Kg off.

No mater at what stage of weight loss you are in, weight loss IS HARD.

At first you have to overcome emotional and psychological barriers that have caused you to gain the weight in the first place.

Then you have to learn about healthy eating, portion control and exercise.

Then you get to the stage where you know what you are doing, you are cruising along and getting results, sometimes stumbling along the path for whatever reason.

Then it comes to a point (which I haven't faced yet, but I dare say I will) where the last 5kgs is hard to shift, because as Chell says we are at a healthy body range but we aren't happy with the number on the scale.

Argh the NUMBERS that rule women
Start weight - 77kgs
Goal weight - 53kgs
Current Weight - 50.1kgs

No more weighing, no more scales. My measurement is my success at health. It's an investment I make every single day. My priority: be healthy!

Aww, it is pretty hard. My weight keeps fluctuating between 49 - 51kg every week. On saturday I was 49.3 this morning I was 50.9. Either my scales are stupid or something disturbing is happening.

I really don't care about losing weight anymore. It's not urgent for me. My main focus is regaining the fitness I lost. I want to be strong again. I want to be able to pick my 76kg boyfriend over my shoulder and run 50m with him (I did that once, he was 85 at the time and I was only 48kg). I want to be able to run a full marathon, or do a triathlon, or go hiking in high altitudes! Being fit will make adventuring so much easier and I'm looking forward to swimming 5km without stopping and feeling horribly sick afterwards.

I can totally relate to that too Bready, my main aim is to get fit and strong too.

You should just chuck out your scales! Measure how your going by how your clothes fit, or by measurements, Weight fluctuates too much.

Oh hell yeah. So much harder losing when you haven't got much left to lose. Not only do you have to do something beyond the ordinary to shift the last few kilos (e.g. hardcore exercise or diet) but you also have to contend with people telling you that you don't need to lose weight because you're skinny already.

I see there are some people on this thread who are in a similar situation to me, I am 53.4 kilos and my goal weight is 50 kilos. I have started a thread titled 'Lose 4 kilos' if anyone is interested or has any tips!
