Ella's Getting There!

Postby loveat116 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 11:38 am

Only 2.6kg to go! Well we'll see when I weigh in on Sunday.

Starting Weight: 62.0kg (possibly more)
Current Weight: 56.6kg
Weight Loss to Date: 5.4kg
Goal Weight: 54kg
KG To Go: 2.6kg

I weigh in every sunday, I might sneak a peek during the week, but only if I think I am going well.

Brief bit about me:
I am 19 years old and live in Hobart, Tasmania. I was born in Gothenburg in Sweden, and moved to Tassie when I was about four years old. I am not of Swedish descent however, i wish!

I finished up my schooling last year, and applied for a business + arts degree at Tas Uni. I got in but after a few weeks deferred as I got a job as a media planner/buyer in an advertising agency. I am really really enjoying it.

I have had problems with my weight all my life practically. I had EDNOS for ten years, and I believe I have fully recovered. My lowest weight was 45kg, and at 170cm tall it wasnt pretty. I guess I was at the other end of the spectrum with weight problems, but it did a lot of damage like obesity. So during year 11 I gained a lot of weight, and I was very happy.

So im now on a plan that me and my doctor came up with, kind of rebuilding everything I lost, building back up my metabolism and focusing on reducing fat % and increasing muscle %. Although I was only 62kg my body fat % was considered overweight.

So we set a goal of 54kg, but I reckon I would be happy at 56 or 55.

My Plan?
Initially she didnt want me to count calories, I felt a little out of control so I counted for a few weeks. Now im back to just eating sensibly.

I still have treats every day, im a major sweet addict. I have enough control not to binge though, and I rarely do anymore.

So I just try to control my portion size, and make sure I get fruit and vegies every day! And drink lots of water - to help with my skin too.

And exercise 5 times a week!

Why am I doing this?
I want to be healthy. I basically havent been healthy for most of my life, I dont know what a proper meal is because I have had such a bad relationship with food.

So theres my life story lol!

Im going to update this with weigh ins and things like that.

Yeah I believe maintaining will be the hardest thing, like keeping the weight off!

I wont be able to just go back to my old ways and start eating crap.

Plan for Maitenance (when I get there!)

A little bit of exercise every day - walking to and from my car spot, going for a walk at lunch.
Weight Training - 3 times a week!
Cardio - 4 days a week.

I really really am loving exercise, so I dont reckon I could ever just stop doing it!

MY GOALS:

1. To be able to run 5km
2. To be able to run the 10km pipeline track on Mt Wellington
3. To have muscular arms, legs, and abdomens!
4. To fit into size 8 designer jeans
5. MY ANKLES BE NOT SO FAT!
6. To look freaking sexy nakie
7. Look good in my size 8 Bardot denim skirt I got when I was 16
8. 54kg, give or take 1kg
9. Be less stressed, and more easy going
10. To move up in the world of business!
11. To earn LOOOOTTTTTTSSSS of money!
12. To have 1-2 kids, beautiful apartment in the city with pool and gym and 2 car spots.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Hey Ella,

I just want to say that I'm so glad that you are getting the support of your doctor.

Living and recovering from an eating disorder is incredible hard. I've been watching my very close friend for the past 15 year’s battle anorexia. She's beyond the point of any help, she refuses it.

And I was a bit worried about you (I didn't want you to fall victim to this dreaded disease), but didn't know whether to mention my concern, because it is such a hard and sensitive area. But now reading what you have written, you are approaching this the right way.

You will get your body healthy again chickie, you’re already well and truly on your way

No more weighing, no more scales. My measurement is my success at health. It's an investment I make every single day. My priority: be healthy!

Woo its been a while.

I havent exercised for over a week. Thing is - I cant.

Ive had some breathing difficulties, the feeling that I cant get enough air in. Ive had to go get some lung tests done, so will find out whats wrong next week. Ive been advised not to do heavy exercise.

BUT! I have maintained my weight. My weight crept back up to 57.6kg, but its back down to 56.9kg. I was 58.5kg at the hospital but that was after lunch and heaps of water and heavy jeans, jacket, belt buckle, shoes etc lol!

Food has been going OK. I havent been snacking as much. Although did have a choc top last night at the movies! It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yummy.

Hope everyone is doing good!
