Doctor Who

Postby electrongirl » Mon Oct 22, 2007 9:55 am

I've only recently started watching this and I was actually surprised how much I enjoy it!

I used to be terrified of the old Doctor Who, having seen it when I was little. But I love the new series.

We are watching the first "new" season, the one with Chris Eccleston (sp?). I wish they had have kept him on for more than 1 series, I really like him, but David Tennant is good too....

And I love Billie Piper. She is so pretty! She reminds me of Brooke Satchwell.

I'm pretty sure she's a waitress or similar on the Titanic. :)

Am I allowed to rant about who the new companion is? Or do other people not know it yet?

yeah i just read she plays astrid:

Astrid is a one-off new companion for the Tenth Doctor in the 2007 Christmas special of DOCTOR WHO, entitled Voyage of the Damned. Kylie Minogue will perform the part of Astrid, a sexy French waitress who is waitressing on HMS Titanic, and she is shocked to meet the Doctor on the doomed cruise liner as the party gets underway, but the party is gate-crashed by an evil alien invader, a red, spiky haired creature known as the Porg. Astrid must team up with the Time Lord to defeat the evil creature and to save the liner from certain doom. Will the Time Lord encounter any more surprises along the journey of a lifetime?

Christopher Eccleston is hot! I don't know what it is about him, and he's not my usual 'type'... but something about this guy really does it for me :P

Not a huge Dr Who fan. It used to terrify me as a child. Years ago I dated a die hard fan who had every ep on vhs and we used to watch hours of it on end and was suprised by how much I enjoyed them.

Am a huge Dr Who fan so when I found this thread i just had to dig it up again :)

The Kylie ep wont be on in Aust until the middle of the year or there abouts. It is pritty good thou, sad but good. Cant wait for the new season to start in the UK (we down load it and watch it as it airs there). Mind you the new season of Torchwood as just started (in the UK) so have that for now.

Yay for Dr Who and Captian Jack (yes very sad I know) :)

Cheers

Ah, will have to get hubby to look for Torchwood. Jack just cracks me up! The kids and I have watched "The Last Three" as we call them (Utopia, Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords) about 20 times! What a shame John Simm couldn't stay longer as the Master. I thought he was brill! Who would of thought, in the days of Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado that the Doctor and the Master would turn out to be hotties!

Oh yeah, we love Life on Mars. Did you see the first series? I've been trawling ebay ever since for a jacket like Sam's for my hubby!

Have you ever looked at the lyrics from Life on Mars? We have it on Singstar.

"Take a look at the law man beating up the wrong guy. Oh, man, I wonder will he ever know, he's in the best selling show..." (or words to that effect)

Ah yes. Casanova. I watched it when it was on TV because I like Peter O'Toole and costume dramas....not quite what I had expected! Didn't DT look great in those costumes? Good ol' RTD.
