anyone seen it? thought provoking movie... love most of it but then again am into those sort of films... can pick loads of holes in this storyline but enjoyed it nonetheless...

yep yep... the spitituality angle spoilt it for me a bit as well as all the holes I mean why oh why if he is broadcasting his daily message didn't the mob in the end get in touch with him? I mean even that thick bird who didnt know who Bob Marley was knew that Will Smith was some emminent scientist... surely the hell that 'organised' mob at the end would have heard the signals too and investigated!?! oh well the yanks can never get a story straight... they'll be picked up on their supposed moon landing hoax yet

that whole scene where they captured him was a bit silly too ... I mean even to the point they used rope (which he cut away easy in the end)... I would have expected a wire trip would have been used... thats accepting they were intelligent enough to come up with that elaborate trap in the first place!

last one for now.. the end when he is in that supposedly secure glass cage... all very handy having that syringe and grenade in there with him - but that coal chute or whatever it was? would it have held that blast but more to the point... why was it there in the first place? I mean you'd have thought whoever or whatever was suppose to be kept in there could have escaped or at least used it? bizzarre! I mean even if it was some sort of last resort hidey hole... (might explain the grenade?) why wasn't there weapons there he could have fought off the zombies with, they were everywhere else in the house... AND even if he did consider this a last refuge... why didnt he booby trap the rest of the laboratory like he did the outside of his house?

As I say plenty of holes... hehe I'd have a much better laugh if I was the last person alive I'll tell you... mind you having a young family to look after I reckon I'd rather we were all taken out pretty fast!

I heard off a friend that it was shite & dont go & see it you will be wasting your money. But it got great reviews in america when it started. Who Knows

I know nicki was wanting to see it she put up a trailer of the movie a while ago it looked good on that I suppose i cant make a remark on the movie when I havent seen it before.

ANOTHER SPOILER - DONT READ IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE!!!

Ok so I thought it was terrible. It was ok if you were there only for the action and a perve on Will Smith, but the story line was horrible.

Here are some more holes in the story line:
Why did normal humans who became sick with a virus suddenly acquire super human strength?
How did the lady get to the refuge in the end if all the bridges were blown up so no one could get off Manhattan Island?
When Will Smith was using his vaccine on the zombie, he locked it away in the glass room and here the lock was on the outside as he locked the zombie in. But then at the end, when Will and the others hid in the glass room, suddenly the lock was in the inside to stop the zombies from getting in.
When the dogs attacked his dog, why didnt the zombie man come out and attack Will as well?
Will Smith states that the zombies had lost all human attributes. However, the zombies were able to set up a complicated trap to capture Will, but if they were mindless zombies, how were they able to think up that?
Why could the zombies only yell? And how were their jaws able to open so wide?
How did the lions and other wild animals get onto Manhattan island?
How come Will Smith couldnt keep up with the deer things when he was driving a really fast Mustang?

I could go on but I cant be bothered. All in all it was scary and had plenty of action but the story line was just way too pathetic! Not worth the money!

lols hadn't thought of a couple of them... but theres a zoo in Central Park assume the animals escaped from there!?! and I guess the girl and kid got to Manhattan and off by boat... didn't she say she'd been on a medical ship at the beginning of the outbreak? Anyway yeah I agree with you... it was just a bit of escapism really and the special effects were good... I enjoyed it up until it started getting silly with that trap!

It was a safe that the woman and child hid in, not a coal chute. Safes are made to withstand blasts...
The animals came form the zoo...

Still some holes but at the end of the day it's a movie and it was made to entertain.
Personally i prefered 28 days later. It just didn't get as good reviews because it wasn't Will Smith in the lead role. Although the sequel 28 weeks later was rubbish.

I have heard conflicting reviews of this movie, some people loved it, some people hated it.

I am yet to find a Will Smith movie I didn't like so I have high hopes for it.

As long as the acting is good in a movie and the plot makes some sense I usually can handle it.

I thought the acting by Will Smith was really good, just a few silly holes in the story line. Other than that I thought it was a good watch, as long as you didnt think about it too much! Lol.

Well my theory is he set up the trap to catch a zombie or dog and the safe, no idea why it was there, just saying it was a safe so thats why the woman survived.
Like i said there are still holes, just thought i'd explain a couple that were pointed out.
But yes Will Smiths acting was great and the movie is very watchable, just won't be everyones cup of tea.

But if he set up the trap then why did he freak out so much to see that the dummy guy had moved? Or was that just part of him losing his mind from being alone too long? Hmm, I thought it was the zombies that set up that trap but oh well, lots didnt make sense! Lol.

I guess i'll wait till it's on dvd and watch it with the directors comentaries and see if that explains any of it. lol

I thought that the zombies set the trap. I thought it looked like they learn't how to set it from him when he set that trap earlier on to catch the female zombie (if that makes sense). But then you get the same arguement of if they were smart enough to do that how could they not be smart enough to find where he lived...

I wasn't a huge fan of this movie. I reckon if I had have watched it on the small screen I would have liked it more... I'm not a big scary movie person and the loud sounds just made me jump every time... lol DH thought I was the biggest sook! lol

I think it ruins movies when you over analyse them. They are for entertainment!! Enjoy them!

I went and saw it tonight and the only thing I will say negative about it is the end seemed rushed. Sure there were things that weren't explained but to do that you'd need 2 more hours.

And I LOVED his dog!!!
