Has anyone read The Time Traveller's Wife? I loved this book (except the ending - not the 'ending' as such, but just how it went on a bit long aftert he climax of the novel). really fascinating story, well written and definitely worth a read :)

I'm currently reading "The End of Poverty" by Jeffrey Sachs. Next on my list after that will probably be the autobiography of Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank and winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize.

I finished the Twilight series and now I don't want to read anything else for a while. I loved it so much it's like I don't want any other characters polluting my mind :P

This is a little sad.. but something I've started to regret lately is not doing any history or geography in high school or Uni. I know NOTHING about these subjects and I want to know.. history is so interesting!

So I went to the library and borrowed a couple of history books. I spent last night (yes, Friday night) reading about WWI and WWII.. I barely even knew which countries were on each side, and now I understand it a bit more, hooray!

Why, yes, I am a massive nerd. 8)

Mandie, i know how you feel! Your not a massive nerd :) I think there comes a time in everyones life where they go through a period of wanting to know about things they dont or that never interested them :) I find myself not reading books because i'm not a BIG reading fan, but i've been flicking through the history channel and discovery etc, and have been watching things i never thought i would, like things about the universe, i wanted a few shows about hitler and the whole nazi thing. These are things i'd never watch before, but i knew nothing about!

Mostly Uni texts', indeed this is not pleasurable :(

The books that are waiting are mostly non fiction or social commentary/observation.

I just finished reading two excellent books. 'Eating for Victory' and 'Make Do and Mend'. They're reprints of government pamphlets handed out during WWII in the UK. The first, 'Eating for Victory' tells people how to have a well balanced diet based on the rations of the day. It includes a heap of recipes, including egg-free biscuits and cakes (bye bye diet!). 'Make Do and Mend' tells people how to re-use things around the home and repair and alter clothes so they don't need to buy new ones. A little too much about darning for my tastes, but still a good book! Especially if you're a family on a budget.

I'm so glad I'm not the only ones to fall in love with Bella & Edward!

I read all 4 Twilight books in as many days and am now re-reading them a bit slower.

I think I'm going to have to request those Twilight books at my local library. If that many peope think they're good then they must be worth reading!

...Of course I thought the same about the Da Vinci Code and I was HUGELY disappointed by that book.
